The New Disney Junior Logo

- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2024
- The Walt Disney Company has filed a new trademark for the next generation of Disney Junior, which takes Mickey Mouse out of the logo and replaces everything with boring black text. Why did Disney Junior's new logo follow the trend of oversimplification? Is it time to say goodbye to the fun bumpers we've been getting on the channel for years?

oversimplification strikes again
First
oh god no
“HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THISS”
nay
oh no is right.
Oversimplification is progressively starting to get even _more_ painful to look at
It was always painful to look at
so what now nick jr is gonna turn to nickelodeon junior i know it exists in france but imagine being in the usa 💀
ITS because of the Logos needing to fit ON a Phone screen
@@rittytoonz2022don't give them any ideas...
I wouldn’t say it’s more painful. It’s that they keep doing it wrong. Like the new American Express logo. That sucks and it looks like it’s off center
Logo oversimplification is a tragic trend that gets more and more painful with every new company that falls victim to it. I just don't see the point at all, it sucks all the life out of the product. So long creative Disney Jr. logo bumpers, we'll miss you.
I couldn't agree more.
Nah I don't agree with that cause sometimes yall are just over exaggerated by it
They look so boring and generic
Honestly it’s not that bad, it dosent affect the product whatsoever
just saving letters.
Someone should record the bumpers as much as they can, so that they don't become lost media!
This ^
I recall the fun Claymation style bumpers and some story advertisements/campaigns that was fun during the early days of Disney Channel and the 90's parks. Those were fun and these remind me a bit of that. We only had VHS to record back then and the Internet wasn't available or in infancy so much has been lost but fortunately some are not. I'm hoping people don't take for granted these special moments and will record with decent quality.
I might have some on old discs my Grampy gave me when I was younger, he’d record stuff from his sky tv and allow me to have em
Does the disc have handy manny now bumper night time version
@@thetvmediafanandexpert4587 no, most of it is lion guard I may have some Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Mickey Mouse roadster racers, Sofia the first and neverland pirates but that’s it
I hate what they’re doing to new logos. They know how we feel about oversimplifying them, but they obviously ignore it. It’s sad how every company’s personality is slowly but surely drifting away
Soon, everything will be black and white again.
Well Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is still our favorite show since childhood and I heard that Disney is going to make a reboot of it in 2025
The old logo's still gonna be used this is just a simplifies variant.

I honestly like the new Burger King logo, but that may be because it is basically the 80s and 90s Burger King logo
that I remember from when I was a kid.
Eh idc it’s not that bad really. Oversimplified logos can actually look pretty good sometimes. And it’s not like it affects the experience of watching the channel, it’s just a logo.
They always gotta make everything lame now
I hate the overly simple designs of shit nowadays
Ikr
F*ck oversimplification
this logo sucks
And it doesn’t even look good.
Oversimplification of logos in general always strip a company's personality for something more marketable and I hate how this proves that companies aren't finished doing so yet
Not really to be honest
capitalism

Why are they doing this to my childhood?! I absolutely loved the bumpers so much as a kid. Seeing the letters change to resemble the characters from the shows was great.
I know RIGHt?!? I don't get it why everything has to change! Why can't Disney simply keep the same logo! Why 😭
The soup class that I still watch those Disney junior bumpers today

@disneyjunior why did you rebrand?
I got used to the change from Playhouse Disney to Disney Junior, but the Mickey color logo just so good!

This channel has done my younger brother dirty... First killing off "Mission Force One" (a retitled and more story arc driven final season of Miles From Tomorrowland, which had Star Wars alum Mark Hamill as a reoccurring guest) and now, a whole logo change that just felt uninspired. At least Disney Channel, Disney XD, FX Networks, Freeform and especially ABC, 20th Century Studios/20th Television m, Hulu and ESPN still has a consistent identity.

Not only is this a bad business decision, it's a bad childcare decision. I've known multiple licensed daycare workers and studied 101 in highschool. Even in that extremely oversimplified course it tells you never have a bland classroom or environment when teaching kids
A classic case of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. It was fine the way it looked.
Tell that to Courtney from ProjectSNT.

Now, your imagination becomes GONE.
Overdramatic much? It's just a logo.
@Silverstar_ Well this won't be terrible, some rebrands are good, others just questionable. This is okay; it's not lifeless, just short.
Heh, good one, implying I had any after school!

Engorish
In like a decade, it’s just gonna be a bunch of squiggly lines as the logo…
Sadly that may be more interesting than this one.
It’s gonna be a dot
That's their plan, the more oversimplified it is, the easier it will be to accidentally do trademark infringement without even meaning to. They want to simplify the logos as much as possible so just drawing a straight line will become trademark infringement, because now one company owns the rights to all straight lines after they had successfully oversimplified it enough.

1:27 I loved your delivery on "BORING!"
Remember when they replaced the creative Nick and Nick Jr. logos with those block letters back in 2009? That’s what this reminds me of.
Yeah. It was odd, but the the Network's formula remained the same at the time.. (split screen credits and a lot of SpongeBob... ughh..)
FUN FACT:
Plus, the last Splat era show to end with in the infancy of the new logo was the Nelvana Canadian import: "Wayside". Reason: Teletoon aired all 26 episodes in 2006-08 plus the 2005 1 hour pilot. However, in America: they aired the show from 2007- very early 2009, with the Pilot being a US Paramount DVD exclusive. (Season 1 is available, but not Season 2 though on DVD in America.) The end credits of Season 2 (made in 2007-08) has the proof... it's logo combo was Teletoon (2007-12 Gold letters), Nick (2006-08 Green/White background with splat and a "In Association With" byline) and finally, Nelvana (2004-13 Polar bear with black background and white letters.)
Granted Nick did get the splat logo back in a way.
The Disney junior I grew up with is officially over 😢
Me too
While I prefer Playhouse Disney, Disney Junior is really good too. This logo change marks the end of an era
Goodbye childhood. Hello depression.
I was a little kid when they made the switch from playhouse disney to Disney junior. It never gets easier
@@KaiTheTyrant Playhouse Disney existed during my birth but 1 year later it became Disney junior
I grew up on Playhouse disney, This new logo makes me laugh at those that did not witness the greatness of the elder logo.
I used to see play house disney when in preschool and i grew up with the real Disney Jounior
2:09 Actually, that's not oversimplified, as I remember BK having that logo during the 80s and 90s. It's more of a return to form than oversimplifying.
Unironically the best form of “oversimplification” is when companies just dig up their old logos and slap it onto everything lol. Burger King and Pizza Hut understood the priority of nostalgia in today’s market, which makes their logo shifts feel more in touch with consumers and less soulless.
@@emilyofjane Same can be said about Pepsi. I'm very happy they decided to bring their classic logo back.

If the change of a programming block's logo is enough to ruin your childhood, then it must've not been a very good childhood to begin with.
No, it's not. If you're grown up, your childhood is already over. A simplification of a channel logo isn't going to change that.
@@Silverstar_ my childhood was good, I used to watch Disney junior when I was 5.
@@Goldstar_ actually no, I’m 12. My childhood is almost over and now look.
At this point Valiskibum is going to oversimplify his logo.
Here's an opinion from a professional graphic and logo designer, with some experience with branding: EVERYBODY CHILL!!!!! At least for a little bit.
This logo was found in a trademark application as a black and white logo. It could mean they were just registering the main logo shape, which could mean there would be several variants of that logo (including colorful and playful, once it's a pre-school brand).
Now it's just me guessing: This logo could be a new abbreviated form of the classic main logo for some specific uses, I can see it as a Disney+ hub icon for smaller screens or favicon.
I know there is a lot of controversy about oversimplification of logos. But some of them are made to ease the readability of the logo in smaller sizes and screens (as a consequence of the digital era).
Let's wait and see the final result of this rebrand be fully unveiled to make a proper opinion.
Guess you could say this is where the magic ends
I miss 2015 disney junoir
I miss the old logo. First the cat dog Petco logo was massacred, the Pringle Man got a glow down, amd now this?

Glad you mentioned Disney Jr. Now can you mention the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse reboot?
You could mention it yourself instead of waiting for someone else to do it. If you've got something to say about the show, then say it. As YT's tagline goes, broadcast yourself.

New Logo: Here’s some Shows to watch and learn with, Have a nice day.
I’m glad I grew up with the older logo
it works as an app icon tbh
What made the old logo so awesome was the many versions of it that represented the programs on the channel. Definitely bummed that it’s going to be replaced.
There was nothing more beautiful than being a kid and hearing that little jingle "Disney Junior, where the magic begins." And watching the logo come together.
Yea simply beautiful times that are now... Gone 😢
We should shame Disney for this.
How could they do this man it’s a literal tragedy😭
Taking away the imagination an creativity from media aimed at kids is probably the worst thing you can do to them.
Those fonts do NOT go well together, they're fonts that are already used
They don't care about making anything new, they want to use something they already have
Even stuff that I don’t even WATCH becomes Oversimplified now 🤣🤣
They had a neat logo, colorful, very pleasing and has the resemblance of their prized mascot! Now it looks, looks like a channel logo you will find at a retirement home tv. Looks pale.
Those bumpers were my childhood😭
Fr :'[ I have no idea what's gonna replace it to show other shows
I hope that the D.JR. logo is just going to be for the app icon and favicon for the website, and not for the actual TV channel
I'm fine with it as a screenbug* and not as a full on new logo. (*= like ABC's dot logo as a clear screenbug, they were the first to do so in 1993-94...)
Idk if it's different in the US, but in Europe we've lost the silly bumpers a few years ago (actually, idk if we even had the animation, just the different logo)
The bumpers have been replaced with a character from the show doing a thing in a background, aand that's it (ex.: Bluey doing a cartwheel on the beach)
We in EMEA(Europe, Middle East and Africa) rebranded in 2019.
I Remember when it used to be called Playhouse Disney boy I feel old
The simplification of DJR. just makes it sound like they are trying to market to teens (even though it is a kids channel)
