Love this planner/art journal! And, must also say, love LOVE 💖💖💖 the old quilt you're using as background. The way some squares are worn to a lacy pattern is simply fantastique!
Finally someone cut from the same nerd cloth as me! New Sub!!! Before this video got halfway done I picked out a book off my shelf to make a journal / planner like this ( an "annual" recipe book by months!) for me because I can't stand the boring calendar planners that are out there. Must have more. Thanks Gina. UPDATE: after binge watching this channel, I see you're a science teacher. Yeah, astronony, biology, drafting, music, all my best subjects in school. Thank You Teacher for sharing your interests with us!
I recognize all those old books and children's books, what a walk down memory lane! I remember that Christmas bear book, too! I loved those illustrations! ~~Leslie
This the third time I have watched this video. I love this and am going to create like this for me!! Love all your stuff! Have watched every video from the first one. Yay!!
Love this. Think I will make one as a gift for my daughter! Thanks. Also, vegetable stickers!!!! Saving the tag from hair color!!!! I thought I was the only one! Cutie stickers. Fall and winter. I knew there was a reason I loved your videos. Hahaha I am just laughing.
I love this planner and all the other pages you added! You are so talented and creative. Your doodles are fabulous! I would love to just sit and look at all the cool stuff in your planner. :)
Claycat4 You are very sweet! Thank you so much. Art has been something I've loved forever but only recently attempted. My skills are definitely a work in progress. I really appreciate your encouragement and kindness. Xoxo- Gina Ps...October is the best.
I love all your journals!!! They're so fun and colorful. You've inspired me! My daughter lives in Springfield, Mo btw. I live on the other side of the state.
Oh my goodness, this is unbelievably cute and creative! You've got me doing the same thing! My husband could not understand why I was gluing pages together on a beautiful old Ralph Waldo Emerson book. I told him I'm bookbinding now! Ha ha! By the way, the pages are so thin I had trouble finding a glue that didn't make them buckle. I found that Elmer's Craft Bond Extra Strength works amazingly well. You are so inspiring! Thank you for sharing with us. Janet
Hello Janet! I am so happy to hear from you. I am so glad you are inspired and gluing book pages together. Elmers Craft Book is my Go-To adhesive...and trust me, I've tried them all. You are absolutely right, it gives the smoothest and best hold. Keep on creating! xoxo- gina
Awesome, totally awesome! I was already determined to alter a book and now I know a bit better how I can have fun and use it. Your creativity and the layouts of each page were like fun discoveries/treasures each time you turned the page making the whole book priceless. I love the specific book you used. Thank you very much for sharing this! I am hitting the subscribe button right now!
I can't even describe how much your sweet comment means to me. Thank you so much. I am so happy that I was able to inspire you. I would love to see what you create. Thank you, Dear Beth! xoxo- gina
I know this was back always but I'm just catching up. Love how you do these journals. So colorful and rich. So far my attempts are intermittent and sketchy. Cheers, and love Trills.xx
Second time for watching this video as I am transitioning into a new planning mode. So I got a lot of ideas from this but have to tell you that I am totally stalking you now! 39th st?!! OMG, one of my favorite areas in KC. White Light bookstore, Saigon restaurant , so much more........ I lived in Hyde Park so was fortunately close; too bad Westport has deteriorated into a neighborhood of tatoo parlors; I used to love that area as well. Last time I visited though Corner Cafe was still there and food more delicious than ever .Back to planners it seems that I'm moving in the direction of a combination of purposes as well.
YES!!! Corner Cafe IS better than ever after their recent remodel. There is so much revitalization going on in KC, soooooo exciting. It seems like every week we find some new little piece of urban heaven. I love that you are developing a new plan for your planner. Happy creating!!! xoxo- gina
Wow Gina I totally love this book even though I'm not a planner, I do keep track of things on my calendar. This looks like it would be really fun to go back and look at, but it seems like it would take a lot of time to invest in doing something like this as well as on top of everything else in my life. I really do love your work though and you seem like you're very enthusiastic person, I wish I had more of that. The head is willing but the body doesn't always cooperate if you know what I mean!
Rustic Nature Reimagined hello Friend! Oh boy, do I know what you mean! Lots of times my head is full of ideas but I just can't muster the energy to do them. Don't be so hard on yourself. Being creative comes and goes. Yes, my planner does take a lot of time but I just work on it a little bit whenever I can. Thank you for your kind words. Xoxo- Gina
Hi! Yes, I did a quick shot of my 'scrapbook' that is a BHG Handyman Book. I would love to do a flip through of it (and the others I have altered). Thank you so much for asking! Your kind words are so appreciated. xoxo- gina
Every time I watch your planners I just love it. Frye boots yes I have one pair! I bought one of the flow paper magazines. The one that's full of goodies. I kinda want some of the Daphne's diary magazine also.
Oh, thanks Rhonda! I've never used the DD magazine but Nazy at AmityBloom (her YT channel) does such cool things with them. Check her out if you haven't already. xoxo- gina
Absolutely! You can find good garden graphics everywhere. I love to look at packaging whenever I go grocery shopping. I have used flowers and designs from tissue boxes before! Its so fun to find images and artwork in unexpected places! Keep me posted on what you find. xoxo- gina
Your initials? Maybe it’s Regina? Love, love your channel! One of my absolute favorites! Also One of the only channels that I watch the same videos several times! I can’t get enough of these journals!
I've watched this video before. This time an idea clicked. I will be making one to track the junk journal challenges with #dearjuliejulie here on RUclips in 2020. Creative Christmas Blessings!
Rewatching your old videos on a hard day is like a hug for my heart.

did you add the pages as you went (the tip ins) or did you have all of the pages done and then just plan and decorate?
Cara Brandon Hi! I pretty much put the whole book together first. Then, added my planning and journaling.

Wow
When you alter a book like this, how many pages do you typically remove? I am new to this process...thanks, hugs Julierose
Anywhere from a third to a half. The more the better...it leaves more room for your collage.
