I like to think that Lastmonk had a brother, they were separated at birth and took different paths, monk and samurai, upon knowning of his brother's death, Blindsamurai decided to begin a journey to the lands where his brother's body lies to take revenge and give the last monk a worthy burial to rest in peace.
That’d be dope. But he’d still end up with dungeon BiS unless he gets super rare patterns even then he’s SSF so it’d be super hard for him to farm arcanite bars and stuff like that. But it’d prolly be good for upgrades during leveling as long as he takes mining too.

I think you should learn guns and bows. Both are suitable for a Samurai as history proves, plus it would be good to have them leveled up if you need the weapon skill in late game
yea...and cloth is a bit odd of a rule, they would have worn more silk under their armor...and chainmail over that, and lamellar plate armor. They also had leather.
Man, so hyped ! everything is great wit this new char, the RP, the class, the challenge rules, even you, you look hyperhyped, it makes it super enjoyable to watch
So crazy how RP can change everything. Literally went from bummed he died to so hyped for this new character. Shout out the guy who whispered the whole battle armor thing it takes this from similar to the monk and a bit of a repeat to a whole new thing.
Is anyone gonna talk about the sheer luck this man has. Between the training sword, the quest medallion, and the 69 roll. I literally could not believe it
@ I mean he basically remade lastmonk. I was hoping for something new I think that is pretty straightforward. I’m sure he loved that warrior but it’s just boring to rewatch the same class do the same thing that’s all.
@matthewmammothswine4395 i agree most samurai probably used the katana with two hands. However, arguably, the greatest duelist to ever live used it one handed. I've heard the relationship between the katana and wakasashi described like this, "the katana was used for killing, the wakasashi was used for suicide". In gaming terms, TTRPG and others, when we say "two handed sword" it refers to a weapon that cannot be wielded with one hand. In an WoW RP sense you could absolutely use a one handed sword as a katana and justify it's use. In fact, isn't there a one handed sword that resembles a katana?
What are you talking about? You use two hands with a regular katana. You are talking about Great Katanas which is like a great sword. Yes, you can use one hand with a katana, but the standard style is two hands on the hilt
Xar, massive respect to u. 37 y/o classic and retail dad player here, watching and more so listening to you when I'm busy is refreshing. Your grounded and humble and I really appreciate it. P.S ur contect with pika is gold and gay but I'd rather u catch up with grubby. He is wholesome encapsulated
Samurais used to have a weapon that would be close to a lot of pole arms in the game too, as well as a short sword (the polearm is called Naginata and the short sword is called Wakisashi) So there are options, they also had bows, which can be seen from a lot of sources, credible and un-credible.
Yo xaryu i have never known or played wow im starting to understand it from your videos glad to watch you get to 300k you are the hype my dude... (p.s im 8 days older than you 😉😉) keep ceeating fun and thank you for bringing me into the wow universe
Yo Xar, as a Samuraï expert (I saw the movie a few years ago, so trust me!) I'm pretty sure they can wear some leather or even mail at some point! Yw, be safe out there. 🫡
I don't understand what makes it fun to wear a cloth robe. Is it kinda like a safety net where if one dies, one can say "well yeah i died, but i was doing a challenge with a cloth robe." I don't see how cloth makes a more fun experience
Miyamoto Musashi dual wielded at times. He went to recount later though that he wouldn't have done it in a serious duel. More or less saying he was toying with an opponent he was sure to defeat. There's also stories he dual wielded when he was attacked by multiple people, so he could block and strike at the same time. In a serious 1v1 though, he only used one sword. You lack the power with a katana for a single mortal striking slash with one hand.
I don't know if you'll see this, but you could justify dual-wielding without breaking the Samurai Challenge. There was a style of combat, originally called Niten Ichi-ryu, later Nito-Ryu when it was adapted to sport, where a Samurai would use a long sword, typically a shorter katana, in his left hand/striking hand and a short sword/long dagger, typically a wakizashi or tanto, in his right hand. The shorter sword would serve a function not unlike a small shield, allowing the Samurai to parry, block, or attack in complement with the more traditional long sword. Typically the left hand provides power and drive, while the right provides direction and control in traditional Kenjutsu; an inversion wouldn't be unheard of though wasn't common. From a gameplay perspective you could use a sword + dagger combo, though you might invert the traditional handling so that your sword can be in the MH.

While samurai typically wore 2 swords they were not dw. Katana was used as a two-hander. But more than that, it hasn't been used at all. Samurai using swords was a rare sight. On the battlefield they would primarily use a bow or a polearm (yari or naginata). Sword would be the very last option.

A katana is a one-handed sword. The nodachi or odachi is the two-handed version of the katana 🤓
kenshi taught me this
The size of the grip is literally designed to accommodate holding it with two hands. Though it can of course be used as a one handed sword.
It is not a one handed sword at all. Have you ever seen one used? Always two hands. The wakizashi was their short, 1 handed sword.
