Zendo is my favorite pyramid game with Volcano being my second. I have sold countless stashes an every time I pull out my bag of pyramids, people gather. They just attract attention wherever they go.
Have you ever reviewed Double Lilliputian Monochromatic Alice Chess? Or perhaps 3D Boolean Rithmomachia? (playable on a real board, but better as a CGI/hologram/VR game)
You should try Volcano/Caldera. They're really awesome games. You can find over 100 fan-created games here: www.icehousegames.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
World War 5 was an attempt to take Risk, make it more balanced, and knock it down to 20-40 minutes. It does that well, and if that sounds good to you, you'll probably like it.
So Zendo is the best game in it, and you need more pyramids to properly play Zendo? Sounds like they missed a good opportunity here. I guess I'll pass on this, and wait and see if they ever get around to rereleasing Zendo.
Rrrrrr, You don't need a specific collection to play Zendo. Zendo has been played with empty beer bottles. True, the Arcade does not have enough pyramids in the fewer colors that the boxed Zendo set originally came with, but you could easily play Zendo with the Arcade. I play it regularly with about a third of the pyramids that are in the Arcade. If that is the only game your interested in, Looney Labs is prototyping a Zendo 2.0, maybe wait for that. But, it won't even be close to as versatile as the Arcade.
Keyton Kodatt It's a big box of 22 games that isn't so big ... give or take 500 games. You can easily have an entire game night with that one box. These days people tend to prefer a variety of good games to one single game that takes 6 hours.
Can confirm that Martian Chess is super fun. Kind of blew my mind lol.

Glad they've printed their pyramids in this format. I'll probably pick it up if I see it at my flgs at some point...
Glad I backed this on Kickstarter! Quite shocked that Tom thought it was that great, though!
I have seen other videos where he talked highly about those pyramid games from the previous sets/games.
I backed it on the value alone. Seems like it was a safe bet!
need more love for the Volcano game. i can't find any vids on it :( Twas my favourite of the set

i wish i could have one.
I really like Martian Chess, & Homeworlds (there's a book on the latter, w/ strategies & variants).

I ❤ my Looney Labs Pyramid Arcade. The best product board game system. 👌
I remember Sextet from the 70s.
Is Tom playing Solo now? 6:23
Malcom Chase Last week, he mentioned another game that he played solo too. I guess he's turned over a new leaf!
Matthew White Wow, which one?
I'm too lazy to go back and search for it, but it could have been one of the Eldrich Horror expansions??
Matthew White Haha, don't worry, thought you had it off the top of your head. Thanks!
He has been playing Mansions of Madness 2.0 solo
Pretty sure the extra pyramids in my kickstarter edition mean I can play any of the games right out of the box :)
Martian Chess looks fun but the wargame one looks horrible.
I think it would be all about voting and arguing.

Unless I had lots of spare money, I wouldn't put this in my collection. Sure I would play it, but in general I am not an abstract game kind of guy.
Pretty bummed Tom doesn't like Fluxx.
because it can become too complicated, can introduce a lot of downtime, too chaotic and random, etc, etc ,etc

They are rereleasing zendo later in 2017.
How can it be the "best" game in it when it's not actually in it? There are enough pyramids in that box to play literally dozens of games.
first! yay!
have my pos, kirby!
I don’t get pyramid chess
For $77 I would rather buy mechs vs minions
Keyton Kodatt You get 22 games at $3.50 per game not accounting for the hundreds of games you can download instructions for.
Ron Petersen but they are cheap games it's not like they are big box games just simple fillers
