      the gift is not eligible for score (since the music wasn't featured in the movie as soundtrack). the actual score (by elton john/tim rice and hans zimmer) is. however, the gift will definitely be nominated for a grammy (maybe album of the year!!).

    Dizz could've never said it better, i couldn't explain to anyone else why i was crying watching and listening to the song. Being a black female seeing her represent the culture and race and all of its glory made me realize that the years i dealt with being disappointed in myself for being black and wanted to change was justified but not needed. It spoke to me so deeply and made me realize why nothing should stop me from perusing the things i love and being myself.

    • @RiVerseLive
      @RiVerseLive  5 лет назад +31

      Absolutely, lovely!! It's an experience I think most black people have had... but you are so right! Nothing should stop you from loving yourself and we are all here, together, breaking down those old stories and learning to really appreciate our own magic!! Keep being brilliant, love!! - Khadija 💚

  • @luname2356
    @luname2356 5 лет назад +178

    I think most black people cried after watching her music video including me 😂 I'm only 19, but I feel like I'm an old lady because every day I have to work hard to prove that I am not what people represent me like as a black woman. Even after working this hard I always feel like I'm not doing enough or that I'm not good enough! Beyonce in this video really looked like a mother telling her child "you are beautiful, you are royalty, your skin, your hair, your history, and your culture are who you are, and don't let anyone put you down for being proud of who and what you are!" The song and the movie mean a lot to me especially since The Lion King is the first movie that I saw as a child that represented Africa in a beautiful way.

    Gurl, I'm not even Black, i am pure Asian but damn I also felt being "in it". I always have this thought inside me that if reincarnation is a real thing then my past life could be I am a Black person. And I am so proud that Bey gave us an album that is so powerful reminding us to embrace, love our culture, skin colour, race, gender and who we really are. Don't let this thing separate us. Thank you guys for such an honest, insightful reaction. For those who haven’t gone through the pain Dizz and Khadijah went through when growing up, we can only observe, support, and make a change. I strongly believe everything’s interconnected. We just need love and education to see it. We need to educate the next generations to believe that. I’m also happy to see stars like Beyoncé shining and glowing for those who identify with her to do so as well. Keep it up guys! By the way, your music is really cool! Thanks for sharing it with the world. Greetings from Peru.

    The bridge of this song is so emotional it makes me feel things. Sometimes, especially now that I am in a foreign country very different from my own in terms of culture, beliefs and traditions, I feel like i am being stereotyped by people around me because I am an Asian and not white. If you know what I mean. I am a man of color and I am proud of it but sometimes you just feel it when their eyes are on you. It makes me feel so down and i usually would just keep my eyes on the road and head down because 🥺. But songs like this and statements of people like you guys give me more confidence and confirmation that it doesn’t matter who you are, we are humans and we deserve to live and breathe. 😊😊😊

    • @RiVerseLive
      @RiVerseLive  5 лет назад +4

    Bey is a legend period. She doesn't just make music videos, she creates art through her music videos. At this point in her career she does what she wants and she does it so damn well. Please react to Bigger as well.

    This is my favorite reaction from rIVerse to date. I was emotional watching and listening to this song when it was first released that I could not finish it. I had abstained from listening fully and watching this song for so long until today as I click on youtube and see that you guys have posted this reaction. I just want to say this song is so so so beautiful. I cried watching this reaction, literally balling my eyes out as Beyonce sang and than after seeing you guys choose to share your personal experiences with us is just so brave and very eye opening. My crying was not out of pity but the fact that each of you sitting on that couch are pushing for what you believe in is so inspiring like... I can relate so much regarding feeling like being the skin color that I am was bad. My upbringing in general was rough and I felt disconnected spiritually from my color if that makes any sense. I credit artist like Beyonce, rIVerse etc... and people of different ethnic groups/races who choose to share their love regardless of societal issues for helping me feel as though I can do things no matter the age, the color of my skin and no matter how many times someone says no to me I will get the F up and persevere. Being a part of the entertainment/fashion industry I do experience discrimination but its music videos like this and reactions like this which give me hope. Thank you once again guys awesome reaction. Also anyone who continues to slander or say that these 4 individuals are reacting just for clout or something can watch this reaction, eat their words and than mine as I embarrass you for being ignorant and envious GTFO.

    beyonce's music always does this to me and having khadija and dizz basically explain how I feel and get teary over it made me get teary and all i could do was nod, being black is so hard sometimes people don't understand it because they aren't black and just having representation means so much and I agreed with everything they said about it, the music, everything. Im so thankful for this channel, the representation, the love, and everything. I'm so proud to be a black young woman and I'm so glad to have found this channel. Thank you so much for voicing your opinions and everything. After watching this and the music video at once, I just want to do great things as a black woman and just thank you soooo much.

    There’s like a whole lot songs they gotta react to so let me make my list: boy story “too busy” ft jackson wang, Mamamoo Gleam, Rainz turn it up, Nct dream Boom, oneus twilight and Valkyrie, (G)-idle Uh-Oh and alone and senorita, and itzy teaser 1&2. Theres so many songs out there, that there’s not enough time in the world to go look them up and hearing if there good but like RlVERSE you gotta hear these!!!
