Oh my gosh, I needed to hear this! She is so good, but in my opinion, with her vocals, I'd kind of like to see her play Dawn. She has the tone to execute Dawn's songs.

I think she’d be an amazing Jenna, but she’d be such an amazing Dawn! A lot of people say she isn’t quirky enough, but that’s what acting is. Pretending/Being someone you aren’t. Her voice is perfect for dawn.
The problem is, I've seen her try to play quirky and awkward...it doesn't read because she's too naturally doe-eyed and a Perfect Princess type.

She ain't Jessie Mueller but I'd rather have her take on the role once Sara's done with her own run than the current understudies Stephanie and Molly.
Jasmin Mariano I saw Stephanie and she was absolutely phenomenal. Not just vocals, but her stage presence and her version of Jenna is just so sincere and beautiful. I'm a fan of hers now.
Oh not hating on Stephanie Torns. I just thought that, with how they are doing right now gross-wise, they needed someone who can sustain ticket sales that would even be at least a bit closer to Jessie and Sara's. Especially since the show is slated to be open til January 2018.
I'm glad Betsy Wolfe is taking over, though I don't know if she can rake as much money or the same as Sara is doing now with the show. But she is Betsy Wolfe so I'm pretty sure the show is in good hands. Stephanie Torns (sp?) is a good ensemble, not a big fan of her Dawn, but maybe she's better at being Jenna.
True, that's why I'm glad they asked Betsy to take over the role after Sara leaves. They have been doing so well in the box office since they opened. Not as high as Hamilton, of course, but not every show is Hamilton and Waitress is the only other show aside from Hamilton that was able to recoup from amongst the 2015-2016 Broadway season. (SoR hasn't, has it?) So, if they're going to survive til January 2018, they're gonna need someone as established as Jessie and Sara, and Betsy Wolfe is a well-known name enough to attract theater goers. Honestly, I think the casting directors are doing so well at finding replacements for the lead; Jessie Mueller, Sara Bareilles and now Betsy Wolfe? I mean, WOW.
I stand with WADA Yeah, I'm really amazed at how well Waitress is currently doing considering a bunch of new shows are opening up. This is why Sara's casting is such a genius plan; they have her take over the show during the most crucial time and given how much they are raking these days, I'd say they'll be fine despite the popularity of ALW shows and the rest of this year's Broadway season.
Also, maybe that's why they had Alex come back to SoR? To help with the recoupment? Idk.

how was your experience at 54 below? I see so many videos from it and am really interested, but just wondering how much it ends up costing, with tickets, food, drinks, and tips and all ~
I've only been there two times (to see Laura and to see Brandon Uranowitz), but I really enjoyed both shows. It's really nice, but it definitely is on the pricier side. You can usually get tickets for a good price - I bought Laura's in advance because I didn't want them to sell out, so those were full price, but I got tickets to see Brandon for like $25. There's a $25 food and drink minimum per person, so you can go and just get an appetizer or some drinks if you want to stay near that amount, or you can pay more and enjoy a nice meal (everything they serve is REALLY good). I stayed near $25/person for this show because I paid more for the tickets, but my friend and I got dinner and dessert for Brandon's show and it ended up being around a $90 bill. So it's not CHEAP, but if you break it down price-wise it's less expensive than getting dinner and seeing a Broadway show nowadays! Both experiences were worth every penny though, so I'd recommend going if you get the chance. :)
It's pretty pricy, but the atmosphere is second to none, and the service is amazing. Plus, it's a very small venue so the shows feel very intimate.
