    Nice table. You made it look easy. Peter Parfitt's system is genius . . . .

    I can't stop watching this new chapter in this long journey. I love how you progress bit by bit in the new house. Can't wait to see a full workshop up again in the long run

    Nice system and workbench! I've used it myself and love it. Don't forget to chamfer the tops of the dog holes, so that the various bench pups and dogs seat all the way down.

    I've used this on my benches. I don't have a fixed vice, so I've mounted a bench to one on a piece of MDF with a couple of parf gide holes in it and then I can plonk it down on my bench wherever I need it. I had something similar for my parkside disc sander until that decided to melt...

    Cool idea for the miter saw station. I really need to update my shop, but I'm not getting any younger and I still have some stuff i want to make.

    If you get some parf revision dogs then you will be able to use the rulers and pins to drill some offset holes on the edge of your top. Then you can place the tall dogs in those and connect your rail, which will move your cut line in between two rows of holes.

    Hi Matt, Great Kit ! I have the first or Mk 1 version and it is fantastic. Like the accessory pack and the cases ! I just got it in the mail tube. I guess for the space saving sending it Down Under. Great Kit mate ! Cheers !!

    I still need to drill dog holes in my workbench... I'm going to look for something like that!
    Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    Interesting bit of kit. I like it. I checked out the fence at the Axminster site and it looks very well made. This makes a very viable alternative for those who want to build their own MFT style bench instead of purchasing one.

    Hi Matt, thanks for the video. I was surprised the parf kit didn't include the bevelling tool (unless I couldn't see it). I bought this system a while ago and it's brilliant. However, I was a bit reluctant to shell out more money for the bevelling tool but I was so glad I did because not only does it make inserting the dogs a little easier it also finishes the table off nicely by removing the rough edges of the holes.

      £68 minimum for a 1200x800 top or £150 for the kit - (minus the fancy box and dogs he has shown)

    Interesting video, thanks Matt. It surprises me this is a commercially viable product - I suspect many people will only want to make one work surface, and with the ubiquity of CNC now, I’d be surprised if a custom bit of MFT-style ply or MDF is that much more expensive. You’d think the second hand market would be rapid, which will reduce Axminster’s potential customers 🤔 Ah well, I guess they know what they’re doing!

    • @Badgerworkshop
      @Badgerworkshop  2 года назад +2

      They don’t last forever so you would always need to make more

    • @Badgerworkshop
      @Badgerworkshop  2 года назад

      I think I say that. If you want a standard size and pattern they are very cheap

  • @sandman2651
    @sandman2651 2 года назад +5

    Its a good system matt but very costly at £450 for the system and the bits pack only really something you would buy if selling the tops i think as there are some good vids on youtube on how to do the parf system without selling a kidney.

      @@MKRM27 I gave your comment a thumbs up but please dont think im knocking matt about this review, as its worth every penny when given to you for free, i put the total cost in my comment because if your buying one you would buy the other to one extent or another there have been several reviews on this type of system and some end up saying its costly and for most people its still cheaper to buy a pre-drilled sheet when needed. I think matt did a good review and showed how to use the system very well as a influencer of woodwork on youtube.
      As for me when i need this kind of work top i will buy a pre-drilled one as matt illustrated in a past video there cheap and accurate. MKRM27 i hope you have a glorious bank holiday weekend.
