    More Information
2:01 Although he wasn't the most subtle person in his portrayal of history and definitely had his own set of biases in his writings, specially against the Irish.
2:39 Or just clerical law, which often times superseded the University law as the University was a beneficiary of the catholic church.
3:20 I show them being hanged within the city's wall due to simplicity sake however they where hanged outside of the city. Also it wasn't just the people that declared the students as guilty. The mayor of the city was there as well and he was the one to carry out the official verdict.
4:05 This problem was also prolonged due to the quarrel between the pope and the King of England at the time. As such the church was in no position until 1214 to resolve such problems.
4:15 We know this position existed in one way or another before 1214 but this is the first official mention of it.
5:29 Aularian just means "hall" in latin.
    6:08 10 February 1355
7:04 There was no set date of end for this but it ended 470 years later when the Mayor and the University reached an agreement. The City also had to pay the university each year on St Scholastic day.
7:43 Third one being Thomas Aquinas.
7:49 Although Wycliffe is usually credit with the first translation of the bible in to English, this is most likely not the case. However even if he wasn't the first he still did translate the bible in to English and his translation became to be very important.
8:26 The reason why I show Wycliffe there with the calculators is because he along with some of the calculators was the last person of the oxford intellectual movement to die.

Great video, reminds me of my university days. In my town the Uni students (a lot of southerners) didn't associate with the locals (northerners). Great times.

@@MLaserHistory Probably because it's a bit niche so therefore doesn't appeal to such a large audience. Your videos about battles and such have a much wider appeal. That said, you're still only a small channel and 2k views + 100 likes is really good. I personally really appreciate that you made this - I find these kinds of subjects more interesting than videos on battles and stuff because they're much more unique. Keep up the good work and keep making videos which you enjoy! I'll be sure to keep updated with your channel.

it would be nice if you talk about history of hungry and how it is related to the Uralic peoples, maybe about the Jewish people in europe. i know that there is a region in russia close to the caucasus where you can find budist peoples called kalmukia, or you can talk about why there is muslum people in russia (about chechnya or kazan).
    great video ;)

the clip you showed at 2:39 is something called trashing. when you finish end of year exams (or honour moderations) your friends often drown you in stupid things.

I don't know why but it's funny to think about a priest lecturing about Welsh history the same way my university professors lecture.
