Ive used it in our hunt camps - very hard wood, very hot. It burns hotter than oak and maple and a bit cooler than beech, ash being about one of the best. In the hunt camp the ironwood would turn the stove red hot. The main issue with ironwood is how hard it is to cut it down and return for the effort....too hard on saw chains lol.
