Natalie, this was amazing. I hope you post vlogs this academic year at Penn State. Its been great having you in my classes and working together. Looking forward to your videos :)
This video helped a lot. I am really debating whether or not i should double major in film and biology. Do you have any more tips with how you made your decision?
Jay Maganti, I’m glad this helped!! I would say my biggest tip would be to try it out. It’s scary but I think its the best way to know if you really enjoy either/both. Hope this helps :)
Hi Jaedyn, it was definitely hard not going to sugar coat it. My schedule was busy, but I was still able to go out and have my social life. I also kept myself busy with clubs and classes, so had little to no time to worry about everything coming my way, just had to act. I think what made it easier was that these two majors were intensive in different ways: BIO- study a lot outside of class, FILM: at my own pace and I'd get as much out of it as much as I put into it. And google calendar, life saver for managing time and keeping track of study hours. It really depends how you balance it. Sometimes for BIO I would have to take weekends just for studying and not see friends/family. And that would take a toll on me but you live and you learn to take time off, super necessary for focus anyways. Hope that helps!
@@natruizperez thank you ! i’m a senior and i’m looking into double majoring at a uni but i will also be commuting since i don’t want to live in a dorm , i am not really sure what i want to do but right now i’m interested in premed and forensics , i am just worried about having classes from like 9-5 everyday ,
@@natruizperez Thank you so much for answering ! This is a very helpful video, i am debating on rather doing a double major in psychology and fine arts or a major in psychology and a minor in art history. I still haven't figured it out if it would be possible for my situation and my career prospect.
@@kateflynn8803 you're welcome! I'd say it depends on the career prospect and your situation. I was lucky to have the financial opportunity to stay an extra semester for both degrees. I recommend talking to students who have taken psych and fine arts/art history at the university you are looking at to see if the workload is doable. I did the general Bio course and that's what allowed me to have more time in Film. Hope this helps!
THIS IS SO COOL! Thank you for posting.
Thanks Adhy! Glad you liked it
Very Proud of you!!! Vas a llegar lejos. WE ARE!!!

hello i was wondering is double major hard on you , or your mental health ? is your schedule busy and back to back everyday ?

How many years did the double major take you ? Did you have to stay a extra year or was it possible to complete it all in the 4 year time frame?
Hi @kateflynn8803! It took me 4.5 years, had to stay an extra semester to finish the two degrees.

My daughter want to major in Theater and nursing.
That’s amazing! I met a girl that finished Nursing and was involved in Theatre at Penn State and loved it.
