Just yesterday I searched "Finegold Dubov" on RUclips and asked myself how can there be no Dubov in the "Great Players of the Present" series, then the next day this comes out. Please stop going through my search history, Mr. Finegold. Damn, the truth hurts.
Dubov is easily my favorite player to watch, his style is so amazing, chess has become so much opening theory and endgame technique but Dubov just wants KO his opponents in the most brutal fashion possible, such a breath of fresh air
@@kylezo I already had one game against nepo and already had a rapid game beating magnus which I wanted to include and wanted to do mostly classical games. That was the first one off the board - I think daniel king has a good vid on that game the goal was beating nepo in a boring drawish opening beating magnus absolutely obliterating a "regular" gm (2500ish) and out tacticing karjaken with a queen sac which is why I chose those games

He is not from Soviet Russia. This country didn’t exist anymore when he was born. But I heard people say Dubov has a playing style of Soviet Russia, but Ben is more qualified than me to discuss that
@@Katzenblick I don't think there's one playing style of Soviet Russia, given that it would include Tal and Smyslov, Spassky and Petrosian, Karpov and Kasparov. It's more complex than that - which is a good thing, I think.

it’s not a coincidence if you search that everyday

The real question is how he could predict on Oct. 28 what you would be searching for on Oct. 31!

Hey thanks Sponsor!
That queen sacrifice is so incredible, this guy has balls of steel
Forgot to include Dubov's immortal vs Nepo from World Blitz 2023, one of the most brilliant games ever played
I think he typically tries to (mostly) show games people wouldn't have seen

I think this is a joke.. wasn't this the game where they only moved their knights in mirror images until agreeing on a draw?
Dubov is immortal, and my personal favorite player.
Thank you for the content, Ben. Best wishes, sir.
Thanks Ben!
I've actually just covered Dubov vs. Svane from Batumi (2019), definitely one of his best :-)
who asked?
I’ve been waiting on this for years

glad you had the integrity to be on the side of Naroditsky. The guy is a class act and doesn't deserve any bit of the negative attention.

I like Danil, very creative. Unfortunately he doesn’t get many invites, the whole Russia fiasco has made it worse.
