Lt Thompson's last words to his platoon

With his dying valediction, he stood there and spoke with confidence and authority while still managing to put others before himself. That is pure, raw, unadulterated love for his men and what it truly means to be a leader. This is a testament to the fine young man and officer he was. I think we could all be so lucky to stare face in the death with such bravery and tenacity. Rest in peace, Lieutenant.
