I remember trying my first reaper which was an absolute experience I'll never forget. I also remember my first Primotali which was also something I will never forget. Both are wonderfully hot and flavorful in their own way as Johnny stated, and even though I didn't try a chocolate variation, the Primotali had a MEAN burn on parts of my mouth I have never experienced before, even including my gums! It was awesome and very humbling. Regardless, they both made unforgettable sauces as well. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us Sir Scoville. We tip our hats to you! Have a blessed day. I cut one of my Chocolate Primotalis open yesterday and licked the knife. I was shocked about the iteral sugar sweet taste for 5 seconds. I recall back years ago growing my first Reapers and also Fataliis and wondered what would happen if the two were crossed. I was certain that would be hotter than the Reaper for sure. Well it looks like Chris Saunders kinda proved me right.
I planted 12 plants this spring and all 12 are going to be super hots. My very first super hots and also the first peppers I've ever grown! Looking forward to trying these chocolate primotali's alongside the orange reapers I'm growing. Also the star scream and the beast. They have all at least sprouted so far so I've got my fingers crossed for a good season of growing!

I have 3 Primotalis plants growing. Beautiful plants. Purchased seed from one of Johnny's friends who sent him a Primotalis to eat. Looking forward to trying my first Primotalis. Thank you again my friend for another great video.
Just some hours ago I made another hot sauce with (enough) Reaper in it.
The heat from it is just to nice - even if you dilute it to your "needs". Of course the smell and taste of the Reaper is more than amazing. But since a normal person has to dilute it in a sauce, they can get lost.
Whats hilarious to me is how EVIL these peppers look

Be careful on a copyright infringement from Chris Farley's line in Tommy Boy (in restaurant speaking to David Spade before the waitress ask him about his face, lol).. You nailed it. Love your channel... I grow hot peppers each year, just a few this year because of my schedule, and have had chocolate and carolina reapers... I grew all them together and the Trinidad Scrorpion's were hotter than the chocolate bhuttla and Carolina Reapers. I have read it takes several seasons to get a hybrid... but these Trinidad Scorpion's that I grew a few years back were hotter than anything I have ever eaten. Take care and I'll keep watching!

@@chrisking4636right but they aren’t inherently hot. If you took out the seeds, dried them for a month, I doubt they would burn much. Would definitely taste bitter though

Seeds are hot due to oils on them but there's not heat "inside" the seeds. Pretty much like eating cardboard.

Does eating one pepper not just make the second one feel hotter, what if it was reversed and you ate the primotali first?
Wouldn't matter. The types and amounts of capsinoids and capsaicinoids are different and trigger your receptors differently. Alone, the trinidad 7 pot and the naga morich are hot, but the combination of the two gave us the 7 pot primo. That 7 pot primo plus the fatalli made the primotalli. Take a 3 bulb light fixture with regular, halogen, and LED bulbs. With any 2 bulbs you can still see in the room, with the 3rd its much brighter.

@moondog7862 there are 5 types of capsaicin. Each has a different effect on the sensonry receptors that transmit a "heat" sensation to your brain. Its purely a chemical reaction taking place. It's ridiculously expensive to get into guiness and you have to pay to stay in it. Normal people cant afford that kind of retention. Not someone that is small scale breeding anyway.

How does a pepper burn in different places? One burns the throat and another burns the mouth, how and why?
we have tested the primotalii chocolate in multiple states and in multiple laboratories with the hplc test and not even one million units arrive

@@ChaseTheHeat I have grown many in recent years and with liquid chromatography there were no high levels of capsaicin, test it yourself! I will test again this year and I will make the results public... just because you feel they are the spiciest doesn't necessarily mean they work with liquid chromatography
They hurt more than any other pepper. See, I like to eat hot peppers. As a result, that's what matters.

Is the reason behind this debate over the hottest pepper not to do with genetics? The reaper is an open pollinated (true to seed) variety. From what you said in this video, it sounds like the primotalii is an F1 hybrid (not true to seed). Therefore it comes down to your personal opinion of whether hybrids should be considered peppers or not. I am inclined to think there is no good reason why they should not be. We should still be careful about how we define "hottest pepper" though, because heat can vary even within peppers grown on the same exact plant.
First reaper, I threw up out of my nose, 2nd I wished I threw it up out of my nose! 5 hrs later eating the 2 nd pepper I was in the fetal position telling my wife to take me to the emergency room, after wife told me how stupid I was, she gave me ice cold water, and I was 1000% better. I was still hurting though.
First whole reaper I ate was green. My cat knocked it off my plant playing with it.
I didn’t think it was going to be too bad because it was just starting to get red. I ate it on an empty stomach (bad idea) and spent the next hour laying in bed rolling around in pain 🤣

You can't really compare a chocolate pepper to a none chocolate pepper because chocolate burn different but a regular primotalii is hotter and more flavorful than a reaper.
Of course you can compare them. There isn’t a red pepper category, a chocolate, or yellow category etc. Hot is hot. As a sauce maker we use the hottest mash we can get because we need to use less of it to create hot sauce. I can tell you that the Chocolate Primotalii would make a far hotter sauce than reaper or any other pepper for that matter, regardless of SHU lab results. You know, chemistry beakers don’t eat hot sauce. People do. Now, this is merely my opinion. If they make a separate category for different colored pods we’ll be in agreement. I appreciate what you said about 'Non - Chili Head's; a person with zero tolerance is likely to have a bad experience if they jump in both feet by eating a known hot pepper ( Ghost, Reaper, etc. ) straight away.
