Bought my albino Burmese from here in 2000. 20 years, 18 feet and 200+ pounds later and she is still a huge part of the family! Also bought my Ball Python in 1997 from here, and still alive and well
I love this place. I purchased my first reptile from Bruce back in 1991. And every reptile Since. Thanks for shining a much deserved light on this awesome reptile shop.
Congratulations Bruce and thank you for 40 years. You are a great business man who truly cares for the hobby, the animals and customers. Keep up the great work.
i love that store every time I come to the Twin Cities I stop by...Happy Anniversary on 40 years .... i love how he talks how things were done 40 years ago when i got in the hobby 35 years ago thing were way different .. keep up the amazing work Dav
People who are new to the hobby have no idea how or where our knowledge came from to get to where we are. I think it's important they know who people like Bruce are.
Every time I've gone to the Twin Cities I've stopped in there. It's been years since my last visit, so I'm to see the store is still going strong. Congrats, Bruce. And thanks, Dav.
Yo quisiera que mi amigo José, tuviera un lugar como este o que trabajara en lugar como este, es maravilloso!!!!!!!! Felicitaciones, de Argentina!!!!!!!
It’s always great to hear what things were like ‘back in the day’ - in the four years that I’ve been keeping reptiles things have changed drastically, but learning about the reptile hobby in its infancy is a real eye-opener. Let’s hope that it keeps improving!
Dave i have been going to this reptile shop for years, i love it, Bruce and Sarah are amazing people!, Thanks for presenting this awesome reptile shop to the world, Twin City reptiles is an asset to the reptile community, we are so luck to have them in MN.
Thank you for your video 😄. I would like to say these people are kind and professional. I just called them and they gave me an answer in a nice tone of voice. I've called at other times and they continue to have kindness courtesy to me and others customers. I was not paid to say this we know this kind of practice is not everywhere. Thank you Twin Cities Reptiles 🥰
Where i bought my first ball, my first giant centipede, giant vinegaroon and still go for feeders n supplies. The atmosphere is awsome. No matter what i got on my plate, the fact i go there at least twice a month, and for at least......6 yr's id guess, im still happy- excited to go. Cool folks in there.
Wow, that’s really interesting. Bruce sure has a great memory. And I just recently started doing research on reptiles, and find it fascinating how much the industry has changed, especially the variety of animals available now. Thanks for a great video Dav. Pat
I've been watching all your videos for the past month & I have to say this one is my favorite! Just looked these guys up. Seems like a cool dude that is very straight forward! thank you for taking us on a tour.
Awwwww this is fantastic!! Well done, Bruce! Ummm, my 4 ft. tegu loves snuggling up with me under my covers when he's out and I'm lounging around reading..... Is that taking it too far?!? 😂😂😂
This is awesome never give up on your dreams! Anything is possible as long as you stick with it! I love these kind of success stories thanks for sharing! Also that is an amazing looking pet store!
Fantastic! I can't believe I've never been there; I'll definitely have to check it out next month when I'm in the cities for Ween. Bruce seems like a great guy. I love seeing how far reptile keeping has come over the years and how much we've learned. It just keeps getting better!
Really cool pet shop! We need one like that in Atlanta, Georgia (within the city limits; not the outskirts). We are badly in need of a store here that offers good caging for pythons and has local delivery! Maybe you could suggest that to him; maybe set up some franchises. :-) I don't know how long he plans to stay in business until he retires, but maybe he could get some people to run a few more of these stores for him. I bet that was an expensive birthday present for his wife! I have never seen one of those lizards but it's really beautiful with the green coloring going to red!
I know I’m just some Dude, but this is the only place worth buying a Reptile from as far as shops go. Only place that I will every shop at. I get the serious pleasure of going there every other Sunday to pick up food. This was great to see! I Love Twin Cities Reptiles and have been going there for 10 years and I have a buddy who has been buying snakes from them for 20 years.
I always went to Leaping Lizards in Burnsville, but I’m so sad that they closed this past winter!! I will have to check out TC Reptiles when this covid stuff is over.
I intentionally stop in here once a week for frozen feeders instead of just stocking up because everyone that works here is awesome and I love checking out all the animals they've got.
great video brother, lots of good points, another thing that makes it so much better now days is all the support through forums and what not for any issues you may be having with the animals.
Very nice shop, he seems like an awesome guy, doesn't look old enough to have run a store 40 years😉 must have been a young buck when he started, thank you ever so much for sharing and best wishes always 😊💖👍
We used to have the awesome mom and pop style reptile store just down the road from me (which for me was like a drunk living by the bar), had great animals and deals, it was a passion project by the guy. It unfortunately closed this last month, which upset me so much, because now all we have a re the big chains which either dont cater to reptiles or dont take care of them well husbandry wise. I love the independent shops, it's just a shame they're few and far between nowadays
Thank you Dav for this video. Bruce is an amazing person with a lot of passion for the reptiles. He surely is doing something right for still going strong after 40 yrs. Although I have to ask one thing...was that a gun shoved in the back of his pants?.. Just curious!!!
If you are considering a reptile, you should visit this store. They are better at telling you how to care for your animal than most other pet stores. The prices are a bit higher, but you don't pay postage.
Great video good interview teaching me a lot I'm in Springfield Missouri and I want you to open a reptile shop of my own show I'm watching videos like this so I can learn😀
Great stuff Dav, really cool shop but I I think The East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley, CA has been around since 1970. Not sure about ownership but I know they’ve been around as long as I can remember and I’ll be 52 the end of this month. Keep up the great work, I enjoy your videos emencely!🤘🏻🐍
Ive been here 2 times. hard to find a place like this. i lived in MN for my first 19 years and now live in arkansas and i didnt get to know this place til i moved to arkansas! when i visit family, i visit here also. arkansas needs more reptile places, we have to go out of state for anything reptile related, all we got are petcos and petsmarts..

@@davkaufmansreptileadventures amazing! I drove to their place to pick up a b&w tegu a little over a month ago from Denmark. I was blown away by their setups. So im looking forward to share your videos with my friends so they can also see it :-)
ill say i appreciated that the enclosures the animals were in looked relatively clean. having worked at a premier reptile shop in my area for almost 6 years (sadly it closed in 2015) i know how much effort that takes. i have yet to find a shop that was as clean as ours (house of reptiles in tigard, OR) was. if im in th area ill stop by for sure. what are the venomous laws like in MN?

there was a HUGE reptile shop in my city and it got shut down cuz they found out the owner was trapping stray cats and feeding them to his giant snakes. he had 7 full grown reticulated pythons. one was like 20 foot long! i loved that shop and the guy was just doing the city a service in my eyes. stray cats are horrible to the environment

I know, right? I wonder what Bruce will "buy" her this year?

What a great store!! Wish there was more guys like him in Every state!!!
Bruce is the man. Always loved going there as a kid. That place has almost single handedly grown the reptile hobby in Minnesota. Much appreciated
Me too!
This is where I got my first snake. I love this store so much. I'm going back over the weekend to get some driftwood and some feeders.

Said some real stuff ! Appreciate The Video ! Keep them coming from Anaheim Ca, 😎👌
i use to pass by this place often when i lived in minneapolis...unfortunately i was not into reptiles then so it was a missed gem.
Thanks Dav! If not for TCR I wouldn't be able to have grown my collection and produce quality animals!
Omg I live 20 mins from there! Was about visit them soon and get my first reptile! So cool to see this!

That's both awesome and said at the same time. The decline of pet shows is so sad. The one local none chain store by be closed last year.

Such a great inspiration
your videos are great, think i found a new fav. i really like this guy youre interviewing
Thank you!
Awesome interview - wish i had time to check it out 2 years ago when I went through there on my way to Nielsville and Fargo.

how are you doing with the shop u wanted to start?
Great video. One of my favorite places to go.
I love your Dr. Claw/Mr. Thneed interview style 😂 Pretty cool. So would East Bay Vivarium be second oldest?
Brian Kusko LOL, I commented about EBV being around since 1970, not sure about the ownership though...
Lol. Truth be told I filmed this two days before I left for Europe so I
was a little rushed. EBV is older but not under the same ownership.

Each city has their own ordinances. I've personally written a lot of
them. The further you get away from the cities the more lax they are.
Loved the video but that ending though 😂😂 the true reality of having long hair lmaooo
