It appears a similar crime may have been attempted just this week at the Summit Metro Park in Akron and the perpetrator was released on a no cash bond.
She was in contact with a police officer minutes after she escaped and with helicopters and police on the ground and they couldn't find him ? Where did he disappear to so quickly ?
She had been tied up for a while before she escaped. He had time to get away. It was a learning experience for this creep; he never left a live victim again.
As a rape survivor from 1986, I’m elated that this case has finally been solved. I sadly never reported my incident to any authority. I was still coming from a generation where this type of crime wasn’t always reported. I went to school every day, and saw my offender. No I don’t believe that I was his only victim, but he was a very big guy with a tremendous temper that I’m glad I never had to see after graduation. If I had been better in science (definitely not my strong suit) I would love to help solve cold cases. I’m now a retired 911 dispatcher with 24 years of experience. I hope that in some manner that I made up for not reporting my incident by helping others in their worst hour. May Janice Rest In Peace 🪽

First step is to take rape complaints seriously. If no DNA from victims by the time reported ... ask the suspects to give a sample of their DNA (suspects won't know if their victims gave suspect's DNA or not).
Is nobody going to mention how a photo was "conveniently" taken by someone right before she went off on her run? Maybe it was the person who took the picture 🤷♂️
The dog is with her in the photo. The story tells us that she didn't bring the dog on the day of the attack. That's obviously a photo from a different day.

Curious to know what his crimes were that had his DNA in CODIS. If I were someone who committed a serious crime such as rape/murder a long time ago, I’d be sweating with concern. Even if this perp hadn’t been in CODIS, they can now find you with genetic matching. So, yeah…the authorities are still looking, perhaps now more than ever because of these marvelous advances in forensics.
