An important reason why this scene is so much better than others of the past few seasons, is that the audience figures out what Barry is doing to pull out a win not bc someone else tells him, but bc he figures it out on his own. This way we get to figure it out at the same time as the rest of the team and Barry gets to actually use the intellect he’s well known for in the comics.
Finally he's doing it by himself and there's no one in his ear telling him what to do, it was okay for the first 3 seasons since he was still learning but he's a pro now

it's probably to give the enemies a chance to surrender peacefully. he gets the innocents out the way as a necessary precaution; but still gives the enemy a chance to back down without a fight. most of them don't, which is why you have scenes like these, bc they're villains and probably dumbasses too. but he's presumably optimistic enough to try anyway. at least, given what I know about Barry and his week-to-week villains, that's how I interpret it.
Barry is so OP this season and I love it! He is really becoming his true speedster self and showing his true power. I can’t wait to see how rest unfolds.
The flash really seems to have taken the criticism starting from season 5 - 7 positively and applied it to show more of what goes on instead of a 8 minute pep talk every week

Actually this scene is illogical. I stopped watching the flash because of how stupid the writing can be. For example, in the end of the video he cuffs her RIGHT after she falls to the ground. WHY NOT DO THAT IN THE BEGINNING??!!? Instead he gets everyone to safety and then STOPS to say his one liner and have a literal conversation with her. Why not CUFF HER RIGHT AWAY? Once again, we see yet another example of how far Barry has come with his powers. Before, if he had been caught in a situation like this, Frost or someone else would’ve bailed him out. Now, he figured out how to generate electrical power directly from his cells and release it in one massive burst of energy. So far, this season has not disappointed me, and with Star Labs gone and Barry going insane, I have to wonder, is this Thawne’s master plan to finally ruin Barry’s life and break him down to the point that he’s vulnerable and able to be killed? Or is there someone else pulling the strings in this Armageddon story?
As an homage to the meme, it would be very cool if it was revealed that Tom Cavanagh Reverse Flash was actually the one behind the whole plan to make Barry go insane, and then he’d say the line “It was me Barry”

I think that the problem with recent seasons is that barry doesn't actually have any problems, the villains just pretty much give up and are given pep talks to stop. I mean we get it that barry is a pro now but atleast get a villain who is a real threat to the team and has a well written story supporting it. I'd recommend villain like red death, who has a great concept , like a batman from another earth who becomes a speedster dude that would be fuckin awesome
Thing is, a lot of the Flash's villains from the Rogues Gallery in the cartoons and comics are capable of being talked down. You see a prime example of this at the beginning of The Flashpoint Paradox where Flash is talking to one of his Rogues in a bar who stopped taking his meds. You can see how Flash really cares. It's been said multiple times that Flash is the Heart of the Justice League. There are multiple realities where the Justice League falls apart or goes evil because Flash died(Justice Lords) or never got his powers(Flashpoint).
Honestly when Barry stood still and started talking, I was literally about to throw my damn screen out of the window, but this scene was actually better than the rest from Seasons 1-7, I get it that if Barry is so overpowered that he has to, still would’ve liked him to just immediately stop the robbery, considering that he literally put 1000+ criminals back in their cells within a matter of seconds in the first episode. Still, this season is hopefully going in the right direction

@@q.st1m Yeah, but Flash is doing everything within his ability to stop himself from going crazy, and right before he fights her (during the 20 minute mark) Iris tells Barry that Xotar is the name of a Meta-Criminal from National City and that she's a psychic meta-human who controls their victim's minds and drives them crazy, and she also says that catching her would've prevented Barry from losing his mind and potentially destroy the world, so with those stakes that have been established, why doesn't Flash just instantly capture her before she could even do anything to Flash with her mind control or telekinesis and take her far way from Central City as far as he can , because as much as Barry has discovered up until this point, He doesn't know about her telekinesis, only her mind control, which he doesn't know the limitations on her ability, but if this could stop Flash from destroying the world, He's gonna do exactly that. But obviously they need to have the crossover so I can understand their reasoning for it.

He finally did something on his own.....it made sense to call the team in the first 2-3 season but after so many years he was still calling them every single time , season 1 and 2 were amazing , the others were pretty bad but this season actually looks decent so far , hope they don't screw it up
What the writers need to do is bring back the smarty pants barry that I know from season 1 because we all know that Barry is a genius they need to stop decreasing is intelligence because he's really smart and the fact that he was able to beat a villain all on his own by building up enough electric charge in his body to defeat that villain just proves that Barry doesn't need his team all the time
From someone who hated S7 in all aspects, the lightning CGI in here is excellent. Also, while suspended in mid-air, when his body realigns, that 3-4 sparks generated scene 2:34 was friggin' epic and a comic-book shot. INJUSTICE among heroes is coming. I'm keeping my hopes, still after all these times.

Everyone else has already said it way better than I have, but having Barry come up with the plan really reminds me of the other part of the flash, he’s a nerd. He comes up with all sorts of crazy stuff on his own, not because someone told him to but because he’s the fucking flash. Putting that speed thought to use! Also for he evacuated everyone first rather than getting the jump on her, which I think was a little more thought than before. That entire scene and his superhero landing pose was fire. That's the Barry I wanna see more of, not the damsel in distress who needs his team's guidance when backed up by other metas
This is one of the first seasons the didn't disappoint me, if Barry was in a situation or a problem he would always call his team, but this time he figures it out on his own to just vibrate his cells and create this lighting burst and that shockwave thing. But it's completely not a disappointment and it's getting better. And forgot all of this is just from the speed force bc if it didn't give Barry a boost he would in a grave right now.

Alegra epsiode( worst rated episode of all time) Cecil episode (absolutely no one cares) Only thing good that came out of it was Thawne returning

This was good. I honestly laugh at all these dumb little comments like "this is dumb he could've been one shotted her, he did this before bla bla bla" If ya knew Barry so well, then ya would know in ALL forms of media including animated, he always get taken out quickly, hell even getting tripped easily. Everybody obviously knows Barry is OP so adjustments are necessary and for this specific moment, it works :)

Anyone else noticed when flash landed on the ground the theme went to a darker sound all of a sudden them switched back to the normal theme when he looked up back again.....Good detail added there.
Can we just give it to the Visual effects team who make the lightning look so fucking cool, this scene and "enter flashtime" from season 4, had some the best CGI the show has to offer.
This season is season 1 level of awesomeness! The plot is amazing! The mystery in the story is so fascinating just like season 1, "th impossible...". And The way the events have been flowing is so great and enticing!
It may be the best episode from 4 to 8 seasons it was very dope this whole build-lightning-uppon-himself and the way he just level the scene with his bolts and the way he land down , he could not make it look any better , just amazing!!
This- this is the Flash folks. There was an animated movie(forget the name at the moment), where Thawne managed to trap himself and Barry in this semi-liquid glue, and Barry couldn’t phase out of it. There were bombs on them. What did Barry do? He used his imagination and managed to move his arm so fast the glue jumped onto Thawne while frying the two bombs. Barry explained: “You may have my powers Thawne, but you have almost zero imagination on how to use them”. That is what we saw here. Barry being creative, doing something he never did before, not knowing if it was going to cost his life. That’s the Flash I know.
Flash point. Great movie. I am not to hopeful for this show though. It was cool to see Barry go Nova but EVERYTHING else about the episode was trash. Barry is still acting like an idiot, the writing is still grade school level, the dialogue is just god awful. In the first two seasons we at least had character growth, decent writing, Barry constantly improving and learning from his mistakes. The characters on the show had well thought out motivations and reasons and TALKED like real human beings for the most part. Even the costumes found a great balance between looking good and trying to find practical in universe explanations for them. Since then the show has just been consistently going down hill. Its like the CW is too afraid to allow Barry to ACTUALLY grow up and mature and stopped caring about the quality of their production. Instead its all about keeping Barry as close to the same as possible, allowing for small changes here and there to renew interest when it ebbs, and keeping production costs as low as possible.

I hardly even recognized it as a CW show. People went so far as to say it must be a different universe, but it was confirmed to be Earth Prime 1 year after Crisis. The current Flash show needs to be canceled, they need to copy and paste all the film from the first and second season, and then redo the rest. The show really started to go downhill in season 3 when they were pulling off the same lazy storyline over and over. Season 4 was better in some areas and the same in others. We don’t talk about season 5. Season 6 started off okay but they somehow burned their writing budget which shouldn’t even be a thing so the quality dropped after Crisis. Season 7 mirrored season 6. And now sadly season 8 is starting to look like a blend of season 7 and season 2 where we truly see Barry Allen a few times and then the same old storyline plays.

What the writers need to do is bring back the smarty pants barry that I know from season 1 because we all know that Barry is a genius they need to stop decreasing is intelligence because he's really smart and the fact that he was able to beat a villain all on his own by building up enough electric charge in his body to defeat that villain just proves that Barry doesn't need his team all the time
If they keep this up this will end up being the best season so far. Please keep up the good & consistent writing these first 2 episodes been great!

This is one of the first seasons the didn't disappoint me, if Barry was in a situation or a problem he would always call his team, but this time he figures it out on his own to just vibrate his cells and create this lighting burst and that shockwave thing. But it's completely not a disappointment and it's getting better.

This was good. I honestly laugh at all these dumb little comments like "this is dumb he could've been one shotted her, he did this before bla bla bla" If ya knew Barry so well, then ya would know in ALL forms of media including animated, he always get taken out quickly, hell even getting tripped easily. This- this is the Flash folks. There was an animated movie(forget the name at the moment), where Thawne managed to trap himself and Barry in this semi-liquid glue, and Barry couldn’t phase out of it. There were bombs on them. What did Barry do? He used his imagination and managed to move his arm so fast the glue jumped onto Thawne while frying the two bombs. Barry explained:
“You may have my powers Thawne, but you have almost zero imagination on how to use them”.
That is what we saw here. Barry being creative, doing something he never did before, not knowing if it was going to cost his life. That’s the Flash I know.

Flash point. Great movie. I am not to hopeful for this show though. It was cool to see Barry go Nova but EVERYTHING else about the episode was trash. Barry is still acting like an idiot, the writing is still grade school level, the dialogue is just god awful. In the first two seasons we at least had character growth, decent writing, Barry constantly improving and learning from his mistakes. The characters on the show had well thought out motivations and reasons and TALKED like real human beings for the most part. Even the costumes found a great balance between looking good and trying to find practical in universe explanations for them. Since then the show has just been consistently going down hill. Its like the CW is too afraid to allow Barry to ACTUALLY grow up and mature and stopped caring about the quality of their production. Instead its all about keeping Barry as close to the same as possible, allowing for small changes here and there to renew interest when it ebbs, and keeping production costs as low as possible.
@@grantpflum6844 I agree sadly. Instead, they should have had shorter seasons and more thought out writing. Superman & Lois is fucking awesome! That’s what good writing does. I hardly even recognized it as a CW show. People went so far as to say it must be a different universe, but it was confirmed to be Earth Prime 1 year after Crisis. The current Flash show needs to be canceled, they need to copy and paste all the film from the first and second season, and then redo the rest. The show really started to go downhill in season 3 when they were pulling off the same lazy storyline over and over. Season 4 was better in some areas and the same in others. We don’t talk about season 5. Season 6 started off okay but they somehow burned their writing budget which shouldn’t even be a thing so the quality dropped after Crisis. Season 7 mirrored season 6. And now sadly season 8 is starting to look like a blend of season 7 and season 2 where we truly see Barry Allen a few times and then the same old storyline plays.

@@authorofone well if that was the case how boring would the show be if he did that every single time, there needs to be suspense and get the viewer on the edge of their seat, not bad writing at all, She has the ability to control minds and controlled his mind the make him paralyse himself, he couldn't move limbs but in a manner of Nano seconds while being in pain of being crushed slowly he thought, then moved his cells on a microscopic level to generate all that power not knowing if it would actually work, He has to come up with that on his own, he's never seen it been done before so, haters gonna hate, but this scene was by far the best and this season is kicking off with a whole new perspective on The Flash.
