Not a pistol collector myself, I occasionally pick them up amongst collections, had some beauts over the years but always passed them on. I love watching your videos they remind me of guns I have forgotten and the odd one I have never come across. I must say the quality and condition of the pieces you show to us is spectacular I like to think it is not a trick of the lens.
Ah brilliant, I really like the 777. I was very fortunate to get my hands on a second set of the wooden grips which you’ll see I shaped to fit my hand, as Daisy recommended in the instructions. It make a huge difference as the ones on the gun are too big! Doubt I’d have the courage to try that with the original grips though. Glad to hear you found one as they seem to be quite scarce. Enjoy!
@@dkjngl1 Thank you! Ebay is awesome! I may try to order some Rink grips for it from Germany, I have those on some of my high end guns and love them! Happy Shooting!
I owned all the non mortgage inducing pistols here...saw an original american hyscore last week for £265 and a uk slab barrel with silencer for £295 in the same gunshop. Thought the yank would be more but neither were the £70 I paid last century...nice informative vid...I miss my Jumbo. Used to plink in an old quarry and took my pellets in the grip.🔫👍
I've watched all of your 100 year videos and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. The trouble is now I think I have to start collecting old air pistols. Shhh, don't tell the wife
These are great...I'm patiently waiting for part 5 but I can't see how it can be as interesting as the first 4....Guns that are Old, Quirky, beautifully made and Innovative...Absolutely fascinating..Good stuff.
Thanks mate, and don’t worry, there are a couple of very interesting designs coming up in part 5. The variety of air pistol mechanisms seems to be endless! Cheers
Only just found your channel - Wow, I've been searching for such a site for years, unbelievable content that I find so interesting and informative, very, very, well done sir.
I’m more of a vintage air rifle collector but through your series I’ve earmarked a few pistols to add when available. Appreciate your reviews, don’t think there is any other reference source available to demonstrate the vast range available . Many thanks for your efforts. Oh , glad you had a sunny day at Pete’s , that barn last weekend was absolutely freezing ! , the ice cold wind was ripping through there ! 😊
I went camping there recently when it snowed, good old Petes 😊 I thought it would be good to see all these pistols in chronological order to show how one led to another and how they evolve over time and I think it works well. filming pt 5 definitely won’t be happening till the spring though! Cheers
Best air pistol history/progression/evolution series on RUclips. It's strength is seeing pistols back to back shooting/comparing. I was surprised you didn't include the BSA Scorpion pistol on the 1970's section for comparison? Are you going to do the same series for rifles eventually?
Hi, yes there are a few pistols that I didn't have yet at the time of filming, there will be individual video's on them in the future. I find it interesting to compare old airguns in chronological order, or in groups, I think it helps contextualise their place within the history. I'm planning to do 200 years of target rifles, concentrating on classic 10m match rifles. There were too many very similar air rifles over the years to do a general one, but 10m match rifles all had very different mechanisms and features. Cheers
Re: HW45 / Beeman P-1 grips: this pistol will fit 1911 grips. The wood scales can be replaced with Hogue rubber grips with finger grooves, making holding the pistol much easier.
Yes I has the hogue rubber grips on an older HW45 I used to owns and it definitely helps. I have converted some Gamo Compact target grips to fit this HW45, I’ll show those in a future video
Hi, I’m reluctant to take it apart as I got away with it once and don’t want to risk damaging it, sorry. If you are looking for a guide, look up: ‘Inside the Feinwerkbau Model 100’ on the airgunbbs forum, that’s what I used when I did mine. Thanks
Hi, no I’ve never even seen an EM GE model 100, I’m guessing they are quite scarce. They look nice though and are probably well made like other EM GE airguns. I’ll keep an eye out for one. Thanks
Maybe because out of all the pistols in this series (including pt5) it’s the only spring pistol that is still made and available for sale in the U.K. not my favourite I’m afraid, although lots like it. Thanks mate
Amazing collection! I would love to spend a day ignoring my phone/girlfriend/job to play with those. I don't think I'm too out of place to say that a norica 83 is missing. Plastic?, yes. Accurate amongst break barell air pistols? You would of hit those targets easily 😊
The tempest is literally a cut down hurricane. In the Webley factory they made the body of a hurricane and machined off the back before spraying, and fitted a shorter barrel and traditional sights so everything you ask is the same except accuracy. The hurricane has a click adjustable rearsight and a longer sight picture so is much easier to zero in and shoot accurately. The tempest is more fun to shoot though as it is very ‘pointable’ thanks
Just to say, this is a great series on the history of airpistols. Congratulations!
Thanks mate, glad you found pt4. Only one more to go! Probably mid summer. Cheers
I really enjoy these series, thx
Thank you

They put a lot of effort into air pistol manufacture back in the 1980’s, even the affordable ones are well made. Glad you enjoy seeing them. Thanks 😊
You did a amazing job with this series, I just watched all 4 and man, what a collection!
Thanks mate, I’m hoping to do the final pt 5 this summer to round off the series
These are the pistols of my childhood, love the aesthetics of the time!
What a great series!!! Just picked up a Daisy 777! love those guns!! Thank you!!!

Those prices sound too high for Hyscore’s. Protek supplies in Bognor often have them.
Great video, and the shot of all the pistols together is really useful for size comparison.
Especially for the Record Jumbo…Apparently some people saw adverts for it and thought it was massive. Cheers
I've watched all of your 100 year videos and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. The trouble is now I think I have to start collecting old air pistols. Shhh, don't tell the wife
Beware, when part 5 comes out it’ll have even more collectible classics! Cheers mate
My dad still has his old crossman repeater. It was a goofy and underpowered gun, but was fun.
I like alot all your series. Very interesting collection and unusual air pistols. Good job:)
Thanks mate
Thanks for another fascinating video. I'm more of an air rifle shooter but I do enjoy my SSP HW40.
I’ve shot my mates HW40 and it’s an excellent air pistol, thanks.
Another excellent presentation. Many thanks.

Certainly looking forward to Pt5 ! . Appreciate your efforts .
Where is part 5? excellent series
I’ve got a few airgun video projects scheduled before that, but I’ll film it soon after. Thanks
Only a few brands get to the Philippines, like Crosman and Daisy... More power! Great video!

Really great collection mate! Would you make a detailed video on how to take apart the FWB 100 and how to replace the seals? Thank You

amazing collection mate and great pistols 👍
Thanks mate, see you at BFTO soon
Interesting as ever! Thanks.
Thanks Trevor! I just used one of the images from your scrapbook while editing an upcoming Haenel 33 video. All the best mate
Bravo...!!!
Great video. Very Nice collection. Have you tried th EM-GE model 100 ? Your thoughts

Great video. I am surprised by the feedback you made on the hw45. Lots of People refer it as one of the best springer pistol

How does the webley tempest stand against the hurricane ?? Build quality, accuracy, power ....

Have you a Skanaker pistol?
I wish! No I’m afraid not
Супер! 😁👍 Ещё будет? Как-никак уже четверть нового века прошла.
When part five coming out?
We’ll probably film it in the spring, few other vids scheduled first though. Cheers
Another enjoyable video
Some lovely pistols
Do you have a favourite?
From this selection I’d have to say the Webley Tempest for plinking and the Feinwerkbau 100 for target shooting. I can’t choose one! Thanks 😊
