- Trace & parallel in a open space.
It tracks the subject better than Air2s (he never lost me). Less suggestive shots because it remains higher.

Unfortunately I don't have the ND filters yet...I apologize for the inappropriate shutter speed 🤦♂️
Location: Monte Bar, Lugano, Switzerland
Speed: Normal mode
Info: Remote control in my backpack. I removed the sticks and I turned off the DJI RC screen.

Thanks Jeff, too kind :) The drone camera has a light sensor and I don't have ND filters yet. Unfortunately it's noticeable. Activetrack very well! I will also try in the woods
@CRANX Hi! I am looking at the video again, running at 4K and showing on an Apple Studio Display. In full screen it looks really sharp and truly beautiful in the colours and quality overall.
@CRANX Hi there is no 4k quality issue. It is only slightly worse than the one-inch sensor in the Air2s. The problem with this drone is the generous opening at f1.7 which gives some problems if you leave the automatic exposure. The radio signal in the city is also not great

Awesome footage Mauro! And some fantastic trails for testing. Next time I need to test parallel, as it seems the drone still stays behind you and thus can make use of it's forward looking obstacle sensors.

He follows well, perhaps he is afraid that I will abandon him again. 😁 A week ago a small accident in the mountains. After two hours of research I gave up. I went back the next day and found it intact. Another thing they need to fix is the GPS of the RC, I had to use the gps coordinates on google maps of the smartphone, the RC didn't give me my position

Awesome, I received the mini 3 pro yesterday and plan to test it out at the Lenzerheide Bike Kingdom on Sunday. Most important info for me was what you did with the remote during the ride. Apparently removing the sticks and the screen of the RC is enough. There was no inconvenient pressing of the buttons while riding?
Thanks, nice place the bike kingdom of Lenzerheide! Yes, I removed the sticks and pressed the power button of the RC that locks the screen. While driving never pressed anything. Probably in the event of a crash the situation changes

Probabilmente Air 2s ti ha perso perché avevi lo zainetto nero mentre qua ce l`hai arancione. Per active track sempre meglio indossare colori il più possibile diversi dall`ambiente circostante, mi sa. Ottimo video, il Monte Bar é da un pò che mi intriga. Penso di andarci presto con la belva Mavic 3 e sarà l`estasi. Ciaooo!
Si possibile, prima o poi li metto a confronto. Sempre bello il Monte Bar. Si presta bene per questo genere di cose. Ciao

In caso il drone dovesse perdere il segnale o il soggetto da seguire, hai impostato un punto di rientro sulla mappa?

Grazie! Se perde il soggetto si ferma sul posto, se perde il segnale torna al punto di partenza perché non posso aggiornare l'homepoint se il radiocomando è nello zaino. Comunque non sono mai a più di 2-3 km all'homepoint e difficilmente perde il segnale visto che sta a 50m dal soggetto. È più probabile che fa l'RTH per batteria scarica (sotto il 20%). In quel caso sento il bip bip, mi fermo e interrompo prima che si allontana
So you finally got the mini 3 pro🙂. Great video once again, even without ND filters. Did you think about the polarpro ones? I switched to English since my Italian was unluckily just googeled😉.
The Italian was fine, I didn't notice 😅 Thanks Didier, I'm quite happy with the mini 3 pro.... they have to fix some things. I ordered the Freewell filters because I didn't want to wait but the Polarpro are the best 😉

@@didier74hs1 It's not very smooth in the final part, motion blur is missing. The sensor is really very bright compared to other DJI drones

As for ND filters, did you try a motion blur plugin in post, like the ReelSmart Motion Blur plugins?
Thanks Falcon, I will also try in the woods but I prefer it follow me well at high speed in open spaces than at 5 km/h among the plants 😜 I have not tried the plugin, soon I will receive the filters
@@maurocavalli There are many "tracking in the woods" videos already. At least here in Germany ;) A high speed open space tracking is much more meaningful for many. The limit seems to be around 25 kph but nobody tested it at truely constant speed. The M3P slows down from top speed as soon as it sees any kind of possible obstacle.
@@falklumo There are no drones following you through the woods at high speed. Not even skydio can do it. I prefer a good video in open space. Here I reached 32 km / h but not constant. I was in normal, maybe in sport mode it goes faster. I wanted to put telemetry as a subtitle but I forgot 😅
Fantastic video. I like when you stopped and added video of the cross. Cool! For parallel test did you start with the drone behind and to the side or did you set it beside you and it slid back on its own? Seems like it tries to keep the angle you started with. Nicer than directly behind.
Thank you! I alternate some landscape scenes. For the parallel test I started from the side but slips behind when you pick up speed. If you slow down, go back to the starting angle. Yes, more beautiful than directly behind.

Hey Mauro dig ur channel bro and great vid BTW. I was wondering about active tracking, so in your opinion which drone is better the Air 2s or mini 3, or are they pretty much the same? I was just wondering since you have a lot of experience with them, thanks and keep up the good work!
Hi John, thank you! 😊 They are quite similar but the mini 3 wins. The Air2s is more nervous, it has a lot of the "elastic effect". The mini 3 almost always stays at the same distance. The Air2s sometimes loses the subject, the mini 3 never lost me. The only thing in favor of Air2s is that it goes faster. I think the mini 3 above 40 km/h is in trouble

Si comodo l'RC ma in città fatichi ad arrivare a 300m, in montagna molto meglio. Non ho messo ancora le mani sugli ND (e si vede nel video purtroppo 😅), sull'Air2s ho il variabile, per questo ho ordinato quelli fissi...anche perché non si trova molto per ora. Grazie Paolo 😉

Great video. I was attempting a similar flight this morning in California, but couldn't figure out how to put RC in backpack without the sticks being moved around and maneuvering the drone. I wanted to be able to MTB ride without holding the drone in my hands or swinging around on a lanyard. I'm curious - did you place the drone in flight with tracking/trace first, then powered down the RC? if you powered down the RC, why the need to remove the sticks? Appreciate any feed back you can share.

Remove the sticks anyway, I have ruined an RC by leaving them in place once put in the backpack. When I use the drone for the activetrack I never screw the sticks. I can take off, move the drone slightly and land even without. Yes, I put the drone already in the tracking mode... then in the backpack but I didn't turn off the RC but only put it in screen lock (by clicking the power button only once)

it's the drone that decides, it's always quite close, I think it's wanted by DJI

@@badfinancialdecisions My Ari2s also tracks from 100m but it is old and I have not updated it recently. Unfortunately DJI has decided that with the new drones the activetrack must be 50m at the most
