Spending time with our Granddaughter (and her parents - ha!) in San Diego. Couldn't watch live, because we were busy with a beautiful 6 year old. (Last of the Mohicans) Totally love these flips. Always great ideas, that I will be using. Thank you for keeping me supplied with useful ideas -- lovely, useful ideas! Enjoy your picking. So Much Fun 😊
I'm not a happy camper. We went through our spell when the kids were in scouts, and we found this lovely spot for our tent that was smooth and didn't have any grass on it. The thing I hate most about camping is that I'm a nervous traveler. I don't like the lack of hot water and having rationed toilet paper and stuff. My body seems to go into a panic on its own. Then it stormed in the middle of the night, and we realized that the tent hadn't been sealed with that waterproof spray in a couple of decades, and we were getting soaked. THEN we realized that the reason there was no grass in that spot was because of EROSION, and we were smack in the middle of a gully. We found out what it meant when someone called a storm a gullywasher because we were sitting in it. The water came rushing through the tent. We packed up in a hurry, throwing everything inside the truck, and I slipped in the mud and went sliding down the hill. When we finally got into the truck, we were muddy and soaking wet, and we just started laughing. My next camping trip was a Mommy-Daughter weekend, which was actually the weekend of Halloween. It was a really nice campground with platforms and heavy canvas tents up off the ground. The only problem is that it was 20 degrees that night, and the wind was coming through the corners of the tent where it was tied together. It was FREEZING!! I had all of our quilts and blankets on a single cot, and we snuggled together to stay warm. The next day was absolutely beautiful, though, and we got to do archery, row in the canoes on the lake, and make crafts. That night, singing, we all walked through the woods along a lantern-lit path carrying our little bark boats with birthday candles on them and set them afloat on the lake with our wishes. It was magical.
