Hallo zusammen.
Heute möchte ich euch mein fertiges Diorama, mit dem M1151 Humvee von ACADEMY zeigen. Ich musste das Video neu hochladen, RUclips hat meine Komplette Tonspur zerstört. Der Bau hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht und die Digital Tarnung der Soldaten war anspruchsvoll.

Today I want to show you my finished diorama, with the M1151 Humvee by ACADEMY.
I had to re-upload the video, RUclips has destroyed the entire sound file.
The construction was a lot of fun and the digital camouflage of the soldiers was demanding.

Excellent work - almost microscopic in size & extremely accurate detailing (though I think there are some ingredients not listed on the coke bottles). I can’t believe you didn’t arm the goat with something. Also - after watching you build that date palm - I have to say I may hire you to build a few I could plant so they’ll grow in my yard here in USA. Again great job. I enjoy your reviews (your “thumbs up”) of the kits used to build this thing. Keep up the great work.

I respect the historical accuracy. Digital pattern for the marines which was correct for the time period because digital patterns were introduced by the marine corps at that time. As well as the desert pattern for the soldiers. Very, very respectable attention to detail.

US Army SF combat veteran of Somalia and Iraq here, I like how when viewed from a different angle it's almost a tranquil everyday scene in the Middle East. The boy with his goat reminds me of when I hitched a ride on the back of a donkey drawn cart in Cairo driven by a young boy. Then the opposite side reminds me of Somalia, with our Humvee's staged for covering fire. War is a strange beast, think paratroopers coming down in a field of peacefully grazing cows etc etc. I was wondering Ben have you ever done a checkpoint charlie diorama? I passed through in dress uniform with other soldiers on pass to visit E Berlin, all of us were ecstatic after our short sojourn to return to the west. I distinctly remember the Russian soldiers purposely bumping into us, very unprofessional. You could have a Lada at the checkpoint with a hidden compartment for an escapee. Als kunstler haben sie eine aussergewohnlich werke gemacht. Sorry for my terrible German.

In Afghanistan, when a firefight would break out, everyone would hold still. Running away would get you shot. Holding very still shows you aren't a threat.

Cool build. One thing the U.S. Army desert camo didn't have green in it. The colors are the base color is sand, the secondary color is a grayish tan, and then brown stripes.. Liked that uniform a ton better then the chocolate chip lol

Depends on the camo pattern, the one which replaced ucp does use green in it

Beautifully detailed, this must have cost a fortune on materials. What I don’t understand about the scene is that it’s supposed to be frantic, as one soldier is shot in the leg and bleeding heavily while shouting from pain and in the background stands a boy calmly with his goat and behind the vehicle stands a tiny dog, just watching and not running away while the shooting still goes on, by the looks of the soldiers in action. These bystanders should have been placed in a “run for your life” position.

Great work. What color did you use as base coat on figures in the M-1151? What color did you use to blot on the digital camouflage?

Hello an thank you very much!! All figures with digital camouflage have a Basecoat with Ammo of Mig Cream white/off-white. The dots of the digital camouflage are made with Vallejo Dark Sand and Vallejo Khaki Gray. Greetings Ben

Your scene is amazing I have just started my own diorama and it's such a bottomless pit of extra details that I want to add to that end does anyone have any Idea on where I can look for 1/35 scale criminal element, I have tried insurgents and terrorists book I'm looking for more hostage takers or gangsters or bank robbers...thanks

Thanks a lot. I use cream white for the eyeballs and then I take the smallest brush I have and paint a small dot as a pupil.
At my latest figures, I also paint the eyebrows.

What are some basic and general things you always need for dioramas that you would then add to to make specific dioramas

I haven't got a lot of experience but basic things are foam the extruded, hard one, plaster or air drying clay to put over the foam to create a hard surface. With clay you can model some elements too in their rough shapes. After that fine sand mixed in scenery glue (look up luke towans channel for that) thatll be painted over depending of the ground you want, rocks etc. Milliput is nice to make finer details/ modify figures. I would also recommend getting square/ round wooden sticks in different sizes to be able creat details that are made out of wood, and styrene for anything else.
