I was totally impressed with it. The build quality was spot on in my Kipchoge color way. Super comfortable and match my stride like they were designed just for me. Kept my heart rate down at faster paces and I could feel the plate engaging propelling me faster with little effort. I like the firmer outsole both in terms of feeling planted and durability. I actually thought of buying a second pair as I unlaced them after my first run. I thought it strange that I didn’t get along well with the Vaporfly 3 but love these.
yep the tradeoff with dark colorways which I have is that it will look cheap since you'll see the white glue marks lol, but so far it's a nice shoe for me, will need more mileage to see if it warrants another pair.
@@TomCantu-q2x you took the words right out of my mouth. My experience has been identical to yours, in every way. The shoe is a huuuuge improvement over the Zoom Fly 5 too.
I have the Zoom Fly 6 and the Boston 12. Im choosing Zoom Fly 6 over the Boston 12 any day. I have 190 miles in the Boston 12, the Boston is heavier and firmer with less foam. Both are good shoes, I just prefer the Zoom Fly 6.
100% agree on the stability issue. The shoe really comes alive for me around 6:30 per mile pace. It is comfortable slower than that but it starts to feel a bit too squishy at those lower paces. And not really in a good way. I really like them in someways but I am conflicted.
Only done one run and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. i find the boston 12 doesn’t have enough cushioning for me. Still love my Sacouny speed 3’s. They are my go to running shoe. Sacouny pro 3 my race day shoe.
as a forefoot striker at tempo+ paces and midfoot striker for easy paces, i like the shoe. it's much faster than the vomero and not any less comfy, no issues with heel instability. i do think it does favor the midfoot/heel striker a bit because when you strike the heel it does give a nice bounce.
So far so good. I really do enjoy it so far. I think it will be a nice addition to my full marathon training rotation. Invincible 3 for recovery, Vomero 17 for Long Runs, Streak Flys for speed work and then Alpha Flys for race day. This one is probably going to get mixed in with some of my speedwork and long runs that I'm looking for some speed work mixed in.
Adidas EVO SL vs Zoom fly 6 ? I run in ASICS SB 2 and Adidas Pro 3. I don’t have Nike at all. Just wanna try new but if you think it’s not worth I will buy adidas Evo sl
They’re very different shoes. The plate in the Nike is going to make it feel stiff underfoot. The Evo sl will feel softer without the plate . Evo sl is a lot lighter too. Both go fast well. I’d go Evo sl (I race in adios pro3 too)
Question to everyone: does it have that extreme thinness in the toe that all Nike shoes seen to have? Nike shoes always feel thinner in the forefoot than their specs say they are, especially at the toe. I haven't been able to get on with them for that reason.
I'm impressed definitely a good trainer for someone who owns a vaporfly 3 or alphafly 3s. Feel like a taller deviate nitro 2 for me which I just bought my 3rd pair.
Great review…as always! Will consider ZF6… ONLY if it's in the Outlets, and heavily discounted. Nike shoes are just overpriced for what you get in return. IMHO.
Im considering this along with the boston 12s as a shoe to do my half marathons (maybe a full). Would you say they would be ok for that or perhaps save the brass and go for somethings else in that price range ?
I’ve got both and for a 1/2 M I’d pick the B12 if that helps. It’s amazing at most things for me. ZF6 is a heck of a comeback for Nike and I like more at higher paces and it feels more forgiving.
Anyone have an opinion on Hyperion Max 2 vs. SL2 as a daily/tempo? Looking to balance out with something different than my Glycerin Max which I’ll use for easy/long.
I love the Hyperion Max as an everyday or fartlek shoe. I have also used them on LSR's up to 16.5 miles. A little firm under the ball of the foot on the medial side but other than that a really comfortable shoe across a wide range of paces. I was tempted by getting a 2nd pair and up until maybe this morning I would say that it has been my shoe of the year. I was tempted by the Glycerin Max for steady long run comfort which would keep me in my real easy paces on longer long runs. That was until this morning where I think that I may have found a fantastic interval, tempo and possible new race shoe. A shoe that felt that good that I could be tempted to buy another couple of pairs.
All the color options are ugly asf except the premium with the fire and Japanese letters, especially because It doesn't have that long nike symbol instead features 2 small ones on both sides which in my opinion looks way better, im considering buying it when it goes on sale, do you think it's better to go true size or half size up?
I like the shoe. When walked in it the first time I felt it was AF3 family. Running with these is fun , very versatile. Don’t feel super fast but when increase pace they just follow very smoothly. Wish had a touch more zoom x and were a touch less slappy. Maybe due to the thick outsole. I still prefer superblast 2 and looking to buy evo SL. Will have a spot in my rotation though.
bought it......using it........probably won't buy again.....Cielo X1 (even at the stupid cost) and 361 Flame (at the least expensive).......are MUCH better......so I'll rotate it in to get my 170.00 worth out of it......but not impressed
Looks awful and I wouldn't even pay £100 for a pair. Just received a far superior shoe today that is currently retailing for £105 if you are prepared to maybe wait a week or two on delivery. Sure that lots will keep buying NIKE though which is good for me 🙂
Such a bad shoe from Nike yet again. Not sure where all the hype about this shoe comes from. It's stiff, has no grip, no life, no fun, no responsivity. It's rather comfy, sure, but it gives zero pleasure at high speed, and also, IT SO LOUUUD.

Totally agree. I also have the EK colourway and I absolutely love this shoe. Find myself reaching for it all the time.
Thanks for the feedback

It's great to see you have a clear preference! Both shoes have their strengths, but the Zoom Fly 6 really does shine for many runners.

valid points
As a forefoot striker, I think it's a pretty bad shoe.. Nothing happens, no pop, no life, nothing. Just clunky, boring and loud.

Yeah it’s defo an improvement
I own this and MS4 and after decent miles in both I’d definitely go with the MS4

I love this shoe!
How would you compare it to the Puma Deviate Nitro 2, which I have and carbon plated trainer?
How do you think the shoe would fair wearing it casually?
What shoe with a carbon plate would you recommend for long track runs?
Definitely not this one

Yeah on a discount it makes sense
Is it narrow like the prime x strung 2? And if you supinate is this a shoe i should avoid?
No width probs for me

Plenty of choice tbh
@FordyRuns the Hyperions are also in the mix. So many nice shoes out there, and there i thought this running hobby was gonna be cheap 🤣

Decent shoe, feels like the Boston. Just not quite as good as the Magic Speed 4.
7.5/10 shoe
It’s a massive improvement but as you say not the best
