Rimbun Dahan was founded and maintained by a famous architect and his family. They offer placements for artists to live and work there for a certain period of time to support the arts. They also dismantled two different types of traditional-style houses from different states, moved and reconstructed the houses on the Rimbun Dahan premises. At least that’s what I was told when I went there many years ago. Amazing place, really loved my visit

Lot of dish can be a local special, like ikan patin masak tempoyak (catfish with fermented durian) is a Pahang signature dish because of the ingredient. We can say a top quality for that specific fish in that dish can be acquire from Pahang. Different state with different signature dish because of best-local ingredient. We can found it elsewhere but it hardly can be the best if we compare to the original place.
I'm binge watching your episodes... Funny that I live in KL and my house is like 10mins from that place but I never knew it. Also, I'm learning a lot about KL that I didn't know lol... Cheers guys. Happy travels
Pandan leaves are also know as Asian vanilla. Yes Worcestershire sauce was created from Asian recipes. So the local version in Malaysia is much older than the English version. So yes very likely England stole it from Malaysia 🤣
Tempoyak catfish comes from Pahang, quite famous in Pahang state, most famous in temerloh, more interesting video if you find out the cooking methods and ingredients used in a dish no matter what type of cuisine
Not surprised that foreigner will like tempoyak. Me born and raised in Malaysia don't really like durian but i can go on second plate of rice with tempoyak. I also like soupy warm dessert added durian, northern Malaysian called it serawa durian!
It's not at all like we imagined it would be, durian can be so overwhelming, even smell alone, but this dish was on another level! Really glad we tried this.
11:52 your technique was correct and thumbs up but before the food reach ur mouth... Open ur mouth bigger and slowly push your food using ur thumbs inside ur mouth. I mean almost inside. And slowly chew. And u gonna taste them Amazingly sedap.. Sangat sedap..
