  • Riding TW200’s above tree line in Alaska. I just got my TW after a long wait with Yamaha’s production delays. I’m so glad it finally came in!! 😄

It was so neat to be riding in that area! I was a bit bummed that the wildlife smoke obscured the views a bit but it was still amazing. 😀

Next up, getting a Tenere 700?

Ha! No, I’m finding I like the smaller dual sports way more than the big versions. I’ve also got a DR650 and it would have been no fun for this ride.
I looked at a Tenere 700 at the dealership when I picked up my TW. I didn’t even sit on it as seemed quite a bit taller than my DR 650. I could actually feel the weight when I moved it to vertical off it’s kick stand. I’m sure it’s a nice bike on the highway and for gravel roads like heading towards Deadhorse and the Arctic Circle. The TW is not great for highway running, especially when the speed limit is 65. It revs pretty high at 50-55 mph.

@@jrhaines30 Thanks! I’ve got my DR 650 in the factory low position and wouldn’t want to have any higher of a seat height.
Funny, I just looked up the Tenere seat height and it’s 34.4” which I can easily manage on both my TTR230 and CRF230. I then looked up my DR650 and it’s 34” in high and 33” in low.
The Tenere looked way taller to me in the showroom and I decided not to try and sit on it as I was concerned I might fall over. 😆🤦‍♂️ Looks like I’d have been okay. The height of the front cowling must have made me think the bike was bigger/taller than it actually was.
