Wow, so many laps in one session, respect on the fitness level. I love the careful breath of caution before some of the more serious sends, and the "HA" when you overcome a section of slab gravel or a rogue root. Great riding and thanks for the inspiration to hit these trails next time I'm in Squamish.
Too bad my poor ol' Canadian Internet cannot load 4K videos well enough :( Feels bad that I've finally got a 4K display but can't use it for watching content!
Oh my god what a gorgeous picture it's just a bliss for the eyes compared to the downhill championship picture where the picture is not the most pleasant
Awesome session, DS! Had to laugh at you feeling tired so, you'll do the trials section of a trail! So. Many. Slabs. Great to see you get in a bunch of laps and pretty perfect conditions for the slabs. Stunning views/weather made for a perfect ride day.
What an epic day in Squamish! I see why you broke it out into two parts for us voyeurs. Such confident riding - especially solo. Beyond impressive. P.S. slabs on the big screen? 👌 and 😱
Generally my mantra is that I'll hit anything solo that I would in a group. Black or white for difficulty. Definitely more grey for remoteness/popularity.
Hi, I see that you are wearing the shimano gr7 shoes, how do they compare to five ten freerider pros fit/comfort/grip/etc wise? I have them also and really love them, but everybody tells me that they are inferior to the five tens, so I just wanna know if I am missing out.
@@DaleStone thanks, good to know. I just figured out we have almost the same contact points on our bikes, I also have the composite oneup pedals just in black, the orange gd1 ergon grips and always have a bell on my enduro bike for which people sometimes tease me. The pedal and shoe combination for me have a sweetspot position where it almost feels like I am clipped in.
This video is from this year (2022)? Here at Quebec, we have to much of snow. Probably do some MTB in 45-60 days. ;( I like the sound of your break. Soooooo silent.
So I'm listening to how quiet Ur hubs are and then U roll a slab and I can hear Ur rear ratchet is going nuts. U sound like U are back pedaling on the slab roll. Why are U doing this and what's the logic behind it ? If U don't mind.
You know things are gonna get serious when Treasure Trail's the warm up lap! 🤙🤙🤙

Always important to remember to breathe.
The last few videos with 4k60 have been amazing. It's truly incredible how good this looks with the higher resolution AND framerate
Hopefully the majority of them moving forwards!

Man your riding sounds like a horse galloping through the forest. It’s incredible how smooth and in control you are. Love your vids man.
Mr.Dale Stone you have the most insane braking control! that 1 second clip of "snack time" was hilarious too haha
Your bike is so quiet! Such beautiful audio on this, makes me feel like I’m there. Peace and love from the UK.

Always appreciate the tech traversing and a bit of anti-gravity. The ole downhill going up. Props!
2:55 now those are powerful freaking brakes
Steep slabs only means I hold my breathe while watching this one ;)
Quality riding from an all around good guy. Thanks for bringing us along
Video quality is A+!!!
Youre a sick rider bro. Enjoyin the vids from New jersey. Keep it goin

Getting the Ontario peeps excited for bike season ! Thanks Dale.
@20:32, that outcropping to the right is a Remy line if I recall, one that even Yoann Barelli didn't attempt.
Great riding! Alice Lake is amazing
11:37 Showing a lot of faith in the trail builder with that one. :)
Showing a lot of faith in SORCA's ability to clear logs quickly! haha
Secret slab ride 👀👀👀
Don't tell Dave. 🤫
i’d e-bike these. double check on the brakes. would hate to stack it at the bottom of I&O😅
This is my dream ride for this year. Stoked to hit some of these slabs this year.
Great video, and a mega solo day in Squamish is the best.
Let’s go to Squamish
It's time you experienced some Treasure. 😈
Every time you say Squamish I think you are down here in Washington since we have a Suquamish. Good ride.
favourite part of this video had to be 13:03, "snack time :)"
So amazing riding here. Master class
Love the crisp 4k.
Popopopo! C'est vraiment beau! Bravo 👍
Excellent ride love your videos 👌 💥💥💥
Clicked on the video cause it said riding slabs and the guys last name is stone….. so I figured this video is going to rock.

@@DaleStone that’s an interesting - and prudent - perspective.
Awesome vid keep it up man 🤟

I'd say they're susprisingly equal. Shimano slightly more durable, Freerider slightly more grip.

This was awesome though. Good jarb.
Yeeeeeeeowh!
Can't wait for another dry day to go to Squamish and test how a previous Ontario rider's braking skill improved
You'll be blown away, hopefully not literally! 😂
I can't remember if you mentioned it in your bike check -- do you run 760 bars? I was always curious given your "trials-y" style and downsized frame.
Yep, 760! Could even do 750. Updated bike checks coming soon™.
What was on the trail @ 7:03 ???
The small dog shaped animal that barked at me?
@@DaleStone Was watching on the phone lol didn't hear the bark 😅
What is your current tire setup? Do you run cushcore?
Depends on the bike. On this one I run an airliner and dual DHFs.
Just wondering what brakes do u run??
9120
25k subscriber special: explain what the dings are for 😂
I'll need until 100k to figure that out myself... 🧠
Pedal back up how many min?
Depends on which lap!
@@DaleStone average pedal time?
Wow man!! You know it’s serious when the GoPro factor doesn’t even tone it down. Still cringing from several of those sections!
If this is taking it easy whats hard riding down the face of the chief?
4K?
Says 4K to me.
@@DaleStone me too!!!! Do u film in 4K?
I do now
New hub? Sounds like a hydra.
Still Onyx! Just need to fix my headset lol.

Yeah this was from a week and a half ago, pretty lucky here. hopefully your snow clears up soon!
@@DaleStone South of MTL there's barely anything left already, but somehow where I am in the QC city area we're still deep in it :')
5:30 Bro, why are you braking so much? Is it because you're riding with flat pedals, or is it too steep to ride at full speed?🤔
Yeah I connected the brake levers to the rotation angle of my flat pedals, like a moto!
I believe one could make a good living just selling brake pads and rotors in Squamish.
don't ride slate i learned the hard way

That's my rear tire losing grip and sliding due to how steep it is!
