    I’m about to make these. Good job they came out nice. What kind of wood did you buy, and what size? Looks like 1x6? Thanks.
    I’m thinking going with cedar.

      I would recommend cedar, but it is so expensive. I did pine and treated it with pesticide.

      @@JoshRoberie - thanks. but what about weather proofing? Hit it with Thompson’s?

      @@patriotjedimaster1450 The paint seals it. No other weather proofing needed. You can repaint every couple of years to make sure no moisture is getting in. Especially if the sun is on a particular area more than others.

      @@JoshRoberie oh ok! Sorry I plan on staining it. I’m probably just gonna pick up a few 1x6 boards of cedar since I’m only building 6 shutters for 3 window. Thanks again! Great job!

    They will sag over time. Why didn’t you put a dado joint?

      Been up over 2 years and still look great.

      @ In my experience I’ve noticed that they will look great for around five ish years. Then start to sag.
