The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!
why not have diffrent containers that do specific jobs, but one motor.....
Because its like the gears in your car. A single motor with a big range of speeds and power is difficult or impossible to construct; just like its harder to make turns, or pickup at higher gears in your car.
Thats not to say those do not exist but it is riskier to let consumers put high speed on kneading dough or slow speed on grinding spice; either cases damaging the motor, Single motor models are sold to restaurants and chefs who knows what they are doing.

so in other words:
1 all-in-one appliance of a good-enough quality, will cost more than many specilized appliances of the same quality.
because (for me) I thought this was just a marketing ploy, to sell more appliances and make more money.

I use a stone pestle and mortar but use it on demand as and when cooking but does the job nicely.
Probably a food processor would work best

stand mixer are wast of money. buy a food processor instead and blender.
This needed to include juicers, not mixers. Nobody is confused about how a mixer is different from a blender or food processor. 😒
I think the point is that blenders, mixers and food processors overlap quite a bit, so there is a choice to make. Juicers are completely different so you either want a juicer or you don't.
