Recently to the excitement of fans around the world, Henry Cavill was announced to be returning to his role as Superman in the DCEU. Following a cameo in the recent Black Adam movie, which Dwayne Johnson fought to help make happen, fans of the actor erupted on the internet and the commotion could be felt all across the world.
Shortly after the release of the movie, James Gunn and Peter Safran were named Co-Chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios. They teased things to come for the future of the franchise on twitter, and began working on their plan for DC's upcoming slate. Not long afterwards, Gunn announced that he is currently writing a new Superman movie that will not feature Henry Cavill in the role.
Personally, I'm excited to see what Gunn and Safran can do with the DC Extended Universe. However this seems like a really disappointing start considering the emotional roller coater fans have already had to endure with this studio. Dropping Cavill seems like a waste to me, but I'm excited to hear your thoughts and opinions on the topic, and if you're still excited for the future of the DCEU. Also I was honestly pretty proud of the build up to that ending, but don't know what it was like from the audience perspective. The management of WB and the DCU has destroyed the cinematic universe.
Without Cavill's Superman, there is no DCU.
For me, I was very excited for Henry coming back to the role. I’m also now far less eager to see what comes out of DC, and feel this news came at really poor timing.
I feel sorry for Henry Cavill. he was a great superman... but man does zacksnyder suck at making movies with superman... or super hero movies as a whole. His problem is he likes the idea and the image, but doesn't see the themes behind it and makes shallow movies.
I hope henry Cavill has fun on warhammer
A lot of people loved them, a lot hated them, but I think most would agree Cavill was an awesome Superman.
At least he's getting a ton of buzz around him right now.
