    Max, 100% if I placed well in the NNRC Cup as a sportsman I would claim it. It’s the first step to intermediate level racing as well. It’s my first year of racing and I’m working to become an intermediate driver next year. I’m passionate about my hobby and am incredibly competitive too. But overall it’s fun. Btw I would have 0 points after 2 races in Ebuggy (because I messed up PNB)

    JQ, your "Do you want to be a champion or a fanboy?" point is interesting, but also transparently self-serving. Evidently Mayako would *love* it if some very talented young drivers would hop on your bandwagon at a low cost. But consider that the parents of these young drivers might not be keen to have their children lose focus on school while pursuing the dream of becoming a champion. Phi Long Nguyen at Kyosho (with Lutz), Frankie Contreras Jr at Mugen (with Drake) can have fun and improve their RC skills while still leaving time to prepare themselves for life.

    Max Mort, on eBuggy. "It is centered driveline for everyone at this point ... well, Losi has that still." Also Kyosho. Also Mugen. These three are not bit players! Lutz has been experimenting with ballast and shorty battery positioning in order to equalize the left-right balance and make the front-rear balance as close to his nitro buggy as possible. Easier to do when your eBuggy starts out being light, like the Kyosho. I'd think a benefit of saddle would be the higher moment of inertia around the long axis of the buggy. Perhaps AE has found the sweet spot for this.

      Kyosho is an outlier on all fronts and the mugen ebuggy has not done well for a while. AE used to have the same layout. The testing for saddle was done when I was still on the team and they reported that it was better straight out. Even Orlowskis Ebuggy euros win with a mugen came with a custom saddle chassis.

    Truggy is only popular because it takes a lot of the skill out of racing, they're much more forgiving to drive than a buggy.

    Max Mort, commenting on Tessman and Tebo not making the current top 25 list: "I could be wrong and by some miracle both of these had a good result that dropped off and now they are off the list, but I really highly doubt that." You are wrong and should not doubt it. Look at the top 50 list. Tessman is at 30, Tebo at 36.

    Being a sportsman, there should be a points system/ series, be you should not talk about it. Those points are for the racer not the masses

    • @markbrown9168
      @markbrown9168 4 месяца назад

      Good point. Also big races should not promote the sponsors of Sportsman class racers - no announcements of Sportsman chassis, tires, etc. and no sponsor stickers on Sportsman bodies. That would encourage sponsors to nudge their sponsored Sportsman class drivers up a level. Case in point: Wasn't it pathetic when, on this podcast, JQ highlighted Jay Smoker as a Mayako success story at DNC? Nothing against Mr. Smoker, seems like he's having a good time, but that's digging pretty deep for a Mayako achievement. Also nothing against Mayako's design or build quality. I think it would be fun to have all of the Mayako's setup options! Had their eBuggy been available through normal distribution channels sooner, I might be running one.

      My argument was more so on the fact that should we encourage the drivers on top of sportsman to stay in the class for fame and trophy hunting with a series like this. For intermediate, 40+ and under 18 there should be a points calculation as those cannot be sandbagged. Separating intermediate and sportsman is an impossible task in reality hence it should not be encouraged to stay in sportsman in my opinion.

      @@maxmortrc couldn't agree more no trophies or recognition would have a lot less sand baggers.

    Question:
    Phend has made multiple mistakes after the concrete part, hitting the transition on the dirt. Even running behind Maifield when he was lining up on the sidewall instead of jumping back on the dirt.
    Why was he not adapting or searching on that part for a safer entry back on the dirt? I find that very interesting, how Phend is not adjusting himself to search for the better line?
