Funny how Act 2's 3D water is just a warped checkerboard, because there is no water Also cool how S3's devs managed to make that effect on a 16-bit console But then I remember Toy Story and The Adventures of Batman and Robin exists and those games also had sick effects
WHOA! Hydrocity was so desperate to have water, that it actually tried to summon it as soon as Eggman came in during the last Act! But Sonic and Knuckles aren't even affected by it, it's like they're not even in the water at all! It's almost as if Hydrocity is trying to will the water into existence, but can't.
It looks so much easier but also a lot less fun in a way. Like it loses it's charm and difficulty by removing half it's theme with the water lol Edit: it also took me until Eggman showed up to realize this is the Mania version and not the Sonic 3 version. As someone who's played both, I think Sonic 3's Hydrocity Zone is better.
I was thinking this was going to be hydrocity Zone easy mode because you didn't have to worry about drowning but look like it came with its own challenges anyways
