- Icelandair has made a bold decision, that being to rebrand their entire classic gold and blue livery that they have used since 2006. Me, being well known as an Icelandair fan here on RUclips, you guys will probably want to see my reaction to Icelandair’s new livery; But the real question is, what do you guys think of it? In terms of extremely bad liveries, this one isn't horrible. Especially compared to Spirit and their banana vomit. However, they did screw up after seeing the other options that they could have gone with. The decision made Icelandair look like any other airline, it lost its defining colors.
I kinda like the blue. The pink is ok but the yellow, the yellow is trash this is my opinion

In my opinion i think the yellow is nice
I saw the natural beauty of Iceland on my recent trip there. I saw the Northern Lights and its glaciers and volcanoes. This livery reflects nothing more than the floor of a taxi cab on a Saturday night.
Would have much preferred they kept the old livery. On the new livery if the billboard titles were italicized with a more Nordic themed font it would be a lot more bearable. Just looks like Ryanair with neon graffiti.
They could've used the multi-color livery across their fleet to represent the Northern Lights which would be a unique way to represent Iceland, similar in concept to Braniff's jellybean livery up until they closed.

I actually like it now... When I first saw these aircraft in February, I was like "Icelandair is doing a Ryanair?" but when I realised it would actually look pretty cool that the entire fleet will have one of these five selected colors, I liked the idea more! If only each aircraft had their own color, just not one of these five. It would be even a better concept. "Oh, I flew with the purple one" "last week I flew the yellow one". Now if only Ryanair themselves could think of a new livery - it would be lovely.

I have just enjoyed a great trip with Icelandair in business class and I have been praising the airline all week. Since I saw this revolting, budget-airline style livery however my opinion of the airline has gone right down, and I feel lucky that I got to fly with them when I did. The blue tails aren't too bad, but I haven't hated a livery so much since British Airways adopted the hideous patterned tail colours back in the early 2000s. Let's hope Icelandair also admits that it has made a mistake.
The new livery with the yellow stripe is actually acceptable, but the one with a pink or light blue stripe looks really stupid. The light blue one looks like a copy of United's livery and the pink one looks like Wizz is doing something.

I agree... I think they should have just kept all of them to have the yellow stripe, no variation on each plane

As of recent Icelandair has only repainted its 737 max’s in the new livery all the cargo 767s and now one of the passenger 767s
I kinda like this livery. Some airlines kept their livery the same but either made the color more gradient or just changed the font size
it looks cleaner in my opinion but the old one looks more iceland

The colour stripe on the tail represents a colour found in the Icelandic nature, for exampe sky blue. I agree, it does look pretty new and cool! However I still much prefer the old livery.

Ngl I saw the colored tail stripes and thought it was cool, but then I saw the OG blue gold nature Icelandic mountains on the liveries and was like whoa! The original is much better like it’s actually sick. Now Iceland Air just looks like a generic air line company. Those OG nature liveries stood out and were unique!

Tbh it looks pretty nice, but this modernisation trend of logos everywhere becoming simpler and simpler should stop.
I honestly like the livery. Not as good as the old one or the other choices, but I genuenly like it.

And at least they have more then two colors and a little tiny bit of a third
Its not bad and complicated like some other liveries because just blue engines the Name and the tail having different colors at the front with the logo
the aircraft number thingy sign was: T*-ICE
You know what they could have done ? Instead of putting colored stripes, they could have added a red stripe, similar to the one found on Iceland's flag and put it between two empty white stripes so the colors could have matched Iceland's flag colors.
Ngl even that could’ve been better
The different colored accent stripes on the tails help crew members identify the plane they're supposed to be flying on today, since some of them are not very good with numbers yet.

Just remove the neon poop and instead a plain old blue icelandair logo on the tail, worked with Swiss air, probably would work here.
Well I kinda got used to this new livery but it doesnt look good on any other plane than the 737 MAX. But still the old one looks way better.

In know this is months ago but you have definitely taken so much of words out of my mouth, honestly. The new livery is so TRASH!! If anything the new livery is literally making their old livery stand out even more due to it's uniqueness. I've seen it in person and there was literally no hype whatsover. Like...they've RUINED it.

C'mon Icelandair! Decided to change to this Garbage instead of a flag design representing Iceland (kinda like LOT Polish Airlines Independence Day Livery but in the random color section)
Ok here is what they should have done, they should have painted their 737’s into the new livery, and repainted their other planes into the other 2 liveries that you suggested. And see what the public likes more

As a person from Iceland I feel offended in some ways that they made a decision like this , I really just prefer the old gold and blue it just gives me and other Icelandair enjoyers some nostalgic feel RIP the good old days but at least we can enjoy some of old livers before this "Virus" of a livery that comes to haunt us one day.
