Hamilton, Verstappen & Sainz are excellent examples of the driver having enough headroom to think strategically whilst piloting at the limits of performance. Ross Brawn always spoke of Schumacher having that extra capacity.
Huge respect to all the drivers, but Lando, Leclerc always seem to demonstrate that they're closer to the edge mentally, not as calm, and unable to have that clarity. Lando's history from the Russian GP onwards shows he doesn't display that he's matured in that respect, nor have the team learnt how to manage him to maximise their potential. McLaren didn't take the opportunity to instruct Piastri to hold station or fall back to preserve a gap when it was understood that everyone would have to pit for inters when the 2nd spell of rain arrived.

Just want to say Hulkenberg is one of if not the biggest what ifs in F1. Such a shame he’s been overlooked by the big teams. He’s rapid and consistent.
Also, I feel mentally LH has proven so much to himself with this victory, AD21 knocked the stuffing out him real bad as it would to anyone, but he handled it really well.
Remember he is 39 against a very young and rapid Russell and he’s c. 1/1.5 tenths behind & we know he’s not performing at his best & is leaving the team. Just goes to show how good he really is
