Henley's issue isn't that no one is allowed to cover Eagles songs, but that artists who wish to do so need to go about it correctly. He blocked a cover of 'The End of the Innocence' by rock band Okkervil River, mainly because the band changed some of the lyrics before recording it, both without permission...

Only one I've heard playing the Stick is Tony Levin with King Crimson, where it was pretty much the bass. These two use the instrument to its full potential. I was a little worried they weren't going to do the harmony triplets at the end, which, to me, is one of the most powerful parts of the song. But he played them perfectly. Great rendition of a great old favorite, thank you.

In the 1990s, I found hollow-steel tube 'harps' shaped like open angel wings (or fingers forming a 'heart' shape. The player sat behind this rig - it was 4-5 feet tall - and it was awesome. Sometime during those strolls (thru the subway tunnels), I hear folks playing something like these Chapman 'sticks'.
