Good to see the range video of this load. Thanks guys. It seems to me that the pellets that fit within the height of the wad cup pattern well and the pellets that are stacked higher than the wad cup seem to be ‘fliers’. The level of constriction of the choke can help fliers pattern a little better. Either way, still good overall ‘coverage’ of the point of aim.
My first 3 1/2 was a 835 I'm not a gunsmith but when mine did the same thing there was a pin at the back of the bolt that slipped out that held a spring. I pushed it back in place and the gun worked fine till the day I sold it.
@@JohnnyDixon-xz5eb this one’s just worn out, I had the gun apart today and it all looks fine. Just a bad spring and weak extractor. She’s old and has eaten a lot of spicy food.
@@theshotgunscientists There is an upgraded hammer spring, firing pin and firing pin return spring that will absolutely fix that hollow sounding misfire. I have fixed lots of those.
Pretty cool load, great video bud!

I've never been able to find 3 1/2'' 12 gauge shells here in Frostbackistan.
@@johanpenner2138 they’re plentiful here, sometimes certain gauges or types of shells are more popular then they are in other places.
Due to shoulder injuries I can’t shoot 3.5 anymore. I did like them when I could though.
Sorry to hear that man. If you can deal with a heavy gun, a 10 gauge really really tames those 3.5” shells. Like 40% less recoil than a 3.5” 12.
Bought Federal “”seconds” 3 1/2” 00 buck at least 25 years ago never shot much of it. Pull down a few for 3” 410 00 buck loads.
I had the same issue of stuck hulls with BPI steel shot hand loads. Stopped loading 3 1/2’s.
Sounds like a good idea to me
@@theshotgunscientists it was with an 835 as well
