    • @rwizard
      @rwizard 16 дней назад

      @@OnlyJalenPhd I'm not even sure that starvation is the worst of it. The Kims set out to destroy the very souls of their people. I remember listening to a young man who had turned in his mother for stealing food to feed his ill brother. He then had to watch her execution, and subsequently was thrown into prison for her crime. While there he was tortured by being turned on a spit over a small fire, like a slaughtered pig. We're talking about a child. He eventually managed as a young man to escape to the south, thus the opportunity to tell his story.
      Of course, Kim Un murdered various family members, including his brother, in an effort to consolidate his power. So at least they are equally monstrous towards one and all. I just hope the alliance with Putin ultimately leads to the downfall of the whole bunch. Xi has made it clear he is not happy about Putin's military adventurism or Kim's involvement, and he pretty much said so at the BRICS meeting. India also made it clear that they were not happy with the direction Putin was trying to go with BRICS. So we will hope that this overreach will be their undoing.

      Whoops..! Lenin, Mao, Stalin were all Communists! But Hitler startede National SOCIALISM! So HIS system and horrors were ALSO based on similar principles:
      -Unifying a people via a ONE-WAY IDEOLOGY, and taking away (forbidding) individual freedom/expression.
      -Building up a huge STATE APPARATUS, THAT CONTROLS ALL THAT GOES ON IN THE COUNTRY!
      -Selecting who is worth keeping, and who is not!
      -Brainwashing all inhabitants, and sending off "defectors", "rebels", and "unworthy ones" to concentration camps!

      @rwizard Месяц назад

      @@Wendy-Williams-NC I'm not sure that has much to do with it. One small and evil group of people are sucking up the available resources for their own purposes. When aid has gone to DPRK the leadership has taken much of it for themselves. If the Communists fell out of power, the North Korean people would eat, at first with the help of the world, and eventually by the fruits of their own labor. But at the present time the Kim regime skims the cream off of any aid, and sometimes sells it off rather than feeding their people. No amount of global wealth or largesse can cure this until the government falls.,

      @@OnlyJalenPhd You are both correct. IIRC the Kims have at times refused outside aid for political reasons - I think they were using the West's concern for the suffering of the North Korean people as a negotiating chip. (not 100% sure of my memory on this). For sure they regularly divert aid for their own use and for resale. I heard a sad DPRK soldier on loan to Putin , who was all shot up in the meat grinder. It was his good fortune to fall into Ukrainian hands and receive the extensive medical care Russia would never have given him. Most of what he said was spot on, but he was talking about how Putin had deceived their beloved sun-faced leader. The poor man could not conceive of the fact that Kim full well understood that he was throwing the lives of these soldiers away. It almost makes you want to cry that these poor souls have such misplaced loyalty to the monster that exploits them. Whatever religious beliefs one does or does not hold, it is difficult to deny that evil is a real and tangible thing in this world, and that the Kims and others like them are its physical embodiment.

      Sanctions placed on these countries are to be blamed for things like kids starving. The USA is the reason many countries are using their scarce resources to stockpile weapons and build huge armies, to stop interference in their affairs and invading, armed robbery and regime change. Obama lifted the sanctions from Cuba which started to improve, then Trump reinstated it, and things slid backwards. I read a book that talked about this. It was basically a book that told the stories of six people, who fled North Korea. One of the people in the book was a kindergarten teacher in a very poor mining town during the famine. She saw her students slowly starve to death in a predictable progression. Even her favorite student stopped coming to school. She couldn’t begin to ask the family what happened.
      Yet, she wasn’t starving. She had plenty of food. So did the man she loved, which was why visiting was so awkward. The truth was that for anyone to survived during that time., They had to not share food. Those who shared food died. Those who had compassion for other people died. The good and honest died. The law abiding died. In order for people to survive and not go insane, they had to stop caring about others. It’s awful.
      When she had left and found herself in South Korea, years later, she thought a lot about this time.when she had food, but so many others didn’t. She especially thought about this when she had a child of her own. It’s a situation we can’t imagine ourselves in.

      @@JAF1323 I appreciate your explaining this, but absolutely no one would be killed if they gave a few scraps of food to those children that came up to the little food stalls. And without a doubt, I would rather be killed for feeding a child than live by turning one away. It would not happen. Those adults could have each given them a handful of nuts to put in their bags..or something. What kind of life would you have knowing your only living because a child died? Absolutely despicable. My anger is not at you..I know your just telling me a story..but I can tell you without a doubt, Jesus absolutely commands us to lose our lives for others, especially children. He said If you try to save your life, you will lose it. I couldnt imagine standing before God on judgement day and say "Yes, a starving child came to me and I turned that child a way, so I could live". Selfish, horrible human beings. And the narrator said that the children have just become a pest to these people..they ignore them. Absolute evil. And sadly those adults will not see heaven, according to God. Unless they have repented for their crimes. I don't feel sorry for the adults. To be sitting around bags and bags of food and ignore the little starving children next to you is one of the most disgusting atrocious things Ive ever seen. But anyway, thank you for the comment! God bless you

      I read a book that talked about this. Basically, in order for people to survive, they had to stop caring about others. Those who cared about others died. If you gave your food to a stranger, you might not have any for yourself. It’s a terrible situation. Many things involving this haunt those who leave North Korea, especially those who didn’t starve during that time.

      The book is called Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives of People in North Korea. It was published in 2009, so it’s a bit old, but it really gives good insight into why North Korea is the way that it is. It tells the stories of six people, who all lived in the same city. It’s very informative, and I would recommend it to anybody who has an interest in North Korea as a whole.
      I want to help their people in someway, so I immersed myself in a lot of things. If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.

Forgive my rhetoric. Believe this, the DPRK government and elite civilians do have access to all of the technology the rest of the world has and they do use it to full advantage. It is the poor villagers who are kept entirely in the dark and who are forbidden from using any communication services that are not run by the DPRK directly.
