"Om Japaakusuma Sankaasham
Kaashyapeyam Mahaadhyuthim
Thamorim Sarvapaapaghnam
Pranathosmi Dhivaakaram"
Japaakusuma = the hibiscus flower
Sankaasham = resembling
Kaashyapeyam = son of sage Kashyap
Mahaadhyuthim = one with immense brightness/brilliance
Thamorim = enemy of darkness (lethargy, inertia, sadness etc)
Sarvapaapaghnam = destroyer of all sins
Pranathosmi = I bow
Dhivaakaram = another Vedic name of Sun (maker of day / giver of daylight)
So put together, here is my approximate translation:
OM, I humbly bow and salute Him whose color resembles the pollen grains of the hibiscus flower, the brilliantly shining son of Sage Kashyap, who is the destroyer of all evil darkness, ignorance and sins, Sun the life and daylight giver.
