This is my 2007 XC90 D5 project. I bought this car with gearbox failure which ended up being just a gear shifter fault. I thought it would be a nice car to drive on the beach so I decided to make it a little bit more off road capable. I made some drawings and had samples manufactured which you can see in this video. I am not aiming for the max lift but rather just something that can go on the beach and also comfortably on road.
It has 265/65/17 tyres and it has no rub issues. The front shock is extended 60mm but still has original travel length and it uses your stock spring. The rear shock is extended 60mm and it has extended travel compared to the original. The rear spring is longer and thicker and it gives you also about 60mm lift.
Once I have tested all this I will make this kit available to buy.
In this episode, I make brackets for the spotlights using my home-made CNC plasma cutter.

I did my lift with spacers between the springs and springplate and Bilstein B6 shocks, but your longer rearsprings would have been great. Looking foreward as you said they may be available soon 😀👍🏼 Greetz, Bjørn

Thanks! They are having problems getting some parts for rear shock modification and it might take few months. I hope I have them ready at the end of the year at least.
That spotlight bracket is thicker than an engine mount.

Will 265/65/17 fit w/o a lift. Not worried about destruction of the car
Yes, it will fit but will rub slightly on the lower spring seat. I did few laps like that and wasn't really a big issue.
@@HeapsofProjects so you not recommend to buy 265 tires? to go offroad. I thought I'll buy until read about rub.
@@aeromarius234 there is a slight rub which shouldn't be a big problem. I have another test set of the lift kit in the making now and if I am happy with it they will become availabe for purchase.

Yes, it would. I am in a process of getting a second test kit made at the moment. If I am happy with that I will make it available for ordering.
