This guy is incredible! Turning knobs during a set what a concept! Super impressed with his philosophy! And no Timeline or Big Sky 😱😱😱

Man I had a big sky and a DD-500 at one point but I just found that I only ever used one preset on them and just turned the knobs. I’ve found that investing in guitars that I really like playing and a decent amp did a lot more for me than investing in lots of pedals. Timeline and big sky are great but you gotta find what works best for you and makes you happy to play.

I agree! I mean programming delays and verbs for songs specifically is okay especially if you cover a lot of ground as a worship musician but you really can get those same sounds a tweak-ability out of other gear. You don’t have to use strymon with 4 JHS drives and an RJM looper to get good tone

      Maybe u have to transalate

My stereo 'big board' runs a BigSky, but I just use/need 3 patches, all in the same bank: A 'hall' (stadium-sized) 'KingDome', an 'orchestral tails' verb with some B3 character, and an 'ambient' one with vocal syllables, 'BreatheOut', for swell-pads and ethereal acoustic-sim parts. When I got it (backordered for 4 months), I went through all the engines/params....these 3 verbs are, to me, worth the $450; I use good ol' one-knob amp-reverb for regular 'always on' room-sound, and kick it off when the BigSky (or my RV-3, set to 'plate' with a really short delay) is in use.
Nobody *needs* a BigSky, but I'm glad I have mine.....I don't have room onboard for the 3 other pedals that could, together, replace it (EHX B9, Keeley Caverns, ~and~ Ibanez DE7).

A question for future video's: Could you show the things you don't like as well? You say you don't like it when the guitar sound loses volume and dynamics. Maybe you could show us what's the difference.
I love your natural style of presentation and the way you explain things! Thnx!

The hard part when you have mediocre gear is getting a sustained tight overdriven sound without getting the classic "fizz"

He uses coily cables like I do! They add a slightly warmer quality to the tone that works really well with the vox ac-15 i'm playing thru

Hi, I found your video very interesting. Would you please listen to Bert Weedon's FBI, on RUclips. The last but one verse at 1 minute 19 seconds is played on the high strings, at frets 12; 13 and 14. It consists of the notes E; C and A. When I play that verse on my acoustic guitar, it all sounds very thin and frail. Bert plays an electric guitar with a plectrum. Any ideas how he might be achieving such a rich, powerful quality? I am not sure, but I think the big chord which starts each phrase is an A Minor(?) Would you agree?
