Was awake later than normal and realised the timer switched itself on when it shouldn't have. Didn't know why as i didn't understand the on/off mechanism. After watching your video I noticed a couple of the pins weren't in their correct position.
    Very helpful video.
    Thanks a lot.

Hi. Thanks for the explanation turns out I had worked it out and was trying to set it the correct way. The only problem is my centre clock does not match the time on the outer ring, the clock says quarter past two and the outer ring says seven oclock in the evening? also when I try to get the outer ring to the correct time it only goes so far then stops turning so I can't get it to the correct time?

My manual says push sigments AWAY from the centre to set the ON periods. The way this guy is setting the time matches the manual. I came hear mainly to check how to set the time. I thought I had to move the physical hands of the the clock! I will put my immersion heater onto a timer instead of having it on all the time. I cannot afford the HUGH electricity price charges anymore and I have electric heating. I have turned most down to 16 degrees from 20. It's a bit chilly now in the house sometimes.

I had really strange prob .The old mechsnical timer died .So i fitted a new mechanical timer .Set the inner clock and outer clock same time and chose a 4 am push in segment 2 hour on setting . Next day at 7 am i looked at it and the clock had stopped at the 4 am setting and stsyed at 4 am with no turn on .once i pushed the outer clock past it to correct time of day ,the clock worked perfect .BUT no matter what time set the on for it would not go past the on setting.
I fitted another new clock and it did exactly the same.Took both clocks back for refunds and fitted a timer boost switch which works perfect .
No one has the answer why 2 new mechsnical timer clocks would not work .Arghhhhhh

How do you adjust the temperature in the house? Where would usually the room thermostat be? If the boiler is in the attic, would the thermostat be there as well? I can't find it anywhere in the house. The house is super cold, even though the oil heater is on... Frustrated and cold. LOL
