McGregor demands are more impressive than his victories to me, a fighter who knows his worth is managements worst nightmare. Other fighters may not realize this but when he makes these demands he's actually helping them out. His labor negotiations will change the UFC long after he retires.

I don't think he's asking for 50% of the company. But for a guy that made you break every single record your company has and probably brought you in ONE night about 250-300 millions at least...he does deserve it.

His worth is his trash talking marketing abilities, attracting those that want to see him win and just as much lose, and knowing what matchups stylistically work for him. If he ain't fighting, the new owners will probably see no worth. Why give him ownership if he isn't fighting because he has a family now? But he is smart saying if they want him back he needs ownership, but threats usually don't work against billionaires...

reiwell del Alvarez is by no means a chump. Just because he got beat by McGregor doesn't mean he's a chump now. He's been in the sport a lot longer than McGregor and with a record of 28-5, I don't see how he's now a chump.

You must be a newbie. Alvarez has a 28-5 record, finished 22 of his 28 wins and just had a 3 win streak against Gilbert Melendez (22-6), Anthony Pettis (19-5) and Rafael Dos Anjos (25-9. I guess you think that they are 3 chumps too. Got "exposed" because he couldn't strike with Conor McGregor? Ridiculous.

He couldnt strike with him yes. Did he really come to this fight with the gameplan of going standup with One punch Man, who has 5 inch reach over him.

Critics are there for a reason? What reason is that? Look, Mcgregor has 2 belts no one has ever done it, if it was easy everyone would do it. Khabib has fought 2 times in 2 years, you have to be in the octagon to be relevant.

    • @SR_9_
      @SR_9_ 8 лет назад +2

Jake Walker Critics are there to CRITICIZE
And you're right no one has done it but that surely doesn't mean they can't... I see Jon Jones being able to do it, Dominic cruz, Demetrius Johnson, tony ferguson all of them have good potential to do it but not all have the ability to pick who they want to fight next. If they did everybody would be doing better in ufc.
Idc if he fought 1 time in a 100 years. Facts are facts. He would whoop Conor and it's amazing how you can acknowledge that and yet allow that to pass your mind.!

You know, after he got beat by Diaz in the first fight, he did not make any excuses. He did not belittle or insult Diaz. He gave Diaz respect. He kept his head held high. He said he would be back. And just two fights later, he avenged his defeat and captured another title in a new weight class. Say what you want about Conor, but this man is special. It takes a special person to be able to do that...

End of an era. Conor peaked here, simultaneous 2-division champion, starting to make some real money. What followed was the massive payday boxing match with Mayweather, rightful defeat by Khabib at 155 in the biggest UFC match ever, squash win over Cowboy and then getting KOed by Dustin.

    Conor McGregor in 2015:
2 PPV fights= 25% of UFC PPV Sales in 2015
    2016:
    3 fights= 50-65% of UFC PPV Sales in 2016.
Now imagine the numbers for Conor in 2017 if Ronda Rousey loses in December.
If he was a boxer with those numbers, he probably would've made at least $200 million by now.
Realistically, I think Conor and the UFC will negotiate at least 50-60% PPV profits per fight along with other perks so that he makes at least around $50 million per fight. And if he's fighting 3 times a year like he is, he can look to make 200 mill yearly for the next 3-5 years, maybe even more. Most likely scenario ATM.

Maybe not 25 mil, but close to 20 million 100%.
PPV Share from 202 was about: $11.5 million or about 7$ per PPV (some think that he makes about 10$ per PPV). Disclosed Fight purse was $3 million. Reebok Sponsorship money: $250.000.Fight of the night bonus: $50.000. Show money for his Vegas afterparty: $250.000 estimated. + add some undisclosed bonuses for breaking PPV record, and he is very close to 20 million. This fight he probably breezed past 20 million easy.

***** in what sense?! If he wants he can buy shares like anyone else who can afford to can buy shares!! but he's never going to be anywhere even remotely close to a major share holder in the company!! He cannot afford to buy anywhere near a major share! The company is worth 4billion and rising!! Even before him it was going up, admittedly not as quickly but still going up and it will after him, the same happens in every era of every sport you always say there will be no other but there is always another, usually quicker in this sport than others also.
Lets say he loses to Khabib and then again in another re-match to Diaz and he has no titles and he's 2/5 in his last 5 all very possible... This sport is like no other in the sense the downfall is very very quick no matter how high you are.
The people who just bought the company are very serious business men and they know what they are doing, so to suggest they will meet in the middle is crazy, they will meet where they want as will Conor, thats the way it should be! He is a successful and valued employee who will make more than other employees do, thats it, because they have A LOT more other employees who combined are more valuable than just one, they have to remain business men and use there heads in the LONG run.

He's earned everything he has achieved day by day, session by session, fight for fight. Congratulations to McGregor on the win and on being the first UFC two division champion. I've NEVER been a fan of Conor, but I have to admit that he deserves tons of credit for what he accomplished at the 205 event. It'd be awesme if he was being serious about moving up in weight divisions. He is a very lanky fighter with power in his strikes, especially if he is able to condition himself to that weight division.

Anyone else come here after conor broke his leg? His movement his speed and they way he fought was so awesome to watch those days. I feel like him leaving mma for 18 months after training for boxing ruined him. His gas tank against khabib was super impressive tho. Wish he would of fought khabib 3 or 4 months after this fight. Wonder if he could of caught khabib early. I feel like khabib just kept getting better all the way up thru til his last fight. Who knows how close the fight would of been if prime mcgregor fought him cuz khabib ran from him on the feet early and never had done that against anyone before conor or after. He def was scared of conors stand up at the start of the fight. Or imagine even conor and Tony fighting at that time. Tony was an animal. Just sucks we missed it

This is sad to watch. A lot of people don't understand but this is the moment a man died. McGregor came up defined by his vision of becoming double champ, he faltered in the diaz fights because they were not relevant to this goal. The moment he laid hands on the second belt and his vision came into full fruition he died because there was no vision afterwards. He didn't believe that he could beat Mayweather, he knew he could make a $50 million paycheck. Once he realized his vision was over he succumbed to a life of drugs and alcohol in order to fuel the gap that remained. By the time he got to Khabib the double champ had been long gone, succeeded only by a shell of who Conor once was.
