Oliver Queen the only similarity for heaths and jerome's is the darkness, but jerome is way more graphic now, and less philosophical. Voice is close but has made it his own.
Heath Ledger's Joker didn't have to be like the comic Joker. Adaptations are their own thing and their own versions of the character that are in their own continuity. They don't have to follow the source material and just because Joker started out as a comic book character that doesn't mean every version of him has to be like the comics. In adaptations they can do their own thing and do what they want and whether that turns out good or bad depends on the adaptation. Only comic book fanboys like you think everything has to be like the comics even though it doesn't.

I don't know why Gotham is getting so much hate. I freaking love this show. Now I will admit, it does have some crazy moments like the resurrecting people and stuff, but you gotta remember, this isn't law and order, or CSI, this is a "comic book " themed show where crazy stuff like this happens all the time. That's the best part about it though. It kind of is law and order, except in a comic book world where crazy crap can happen with no limits.

Arachido Battlefront I see your point on that. Gotham takes before Batman. Since Bruce is a child, it doesn't make much sense that his future villains are already adults. Mr freeze for example. Same for joker, and the worst is falcone. He is old, but that's when Batman's already around, but on Gotham he should be younger, not 70 or whatever age he is. They did an episode with scarecrow, but at least he was Bruce's age. I think only a few villains could appear, but it should have been more gangster's for Gotham's crime world.
I could honestly see a younger Batman coming into play. It would make sense since Bruce is like 12 or 13 (if I remember correctly normally he is supposed to be like 8 when his parents are killed) and maybe he becomes Batman when he is like 18 or 20 or some really young age. We could see him make some mistakes as Batman and maybe see the further development of his morals and way of fighting crime. They could even go as far as to keep Jim as the main character to give us a new perspective of Batman, maybe the show could follow him trying to capture Batman. This would obviously be a pretty long term plan, but if the show goes on for long enough or there is some sort of time skip, it could be something really cool.

Wasif Kamal Ledger is kind of overrated imo. He was too serious as The Joker. I recall he laughed two times in a two hour movie. Dude, that's the Joker. Laughing and tricking people is what he does. Ledger was too dark and moody for my taste when it came to the fun side of the character. Not to mention that he looked nothing like the comics. Monaghan has Ledger's darkness, Hamill's joy and Nicholson's gangstar attitude. Even if you disagree, one thing is for sure. Everybody is better than Leto, yes even Romero.
If Jerome lives, I would love to see Harley Quinn! She can be an ambitious psychology student (high school/College) who is assigned to Jerome and we all know what that would lead to!

Ledger's joker was perfect to me. This joker, Jerome, I find it amazing. Cameron did an amazing job, and Idk if anyone noticed but he took a lot of gestures and manners from Heath's joker. The Joker is scary because he has no backstory. He could have been anyone before deciding to be a homicidal maniac. He's creepy because deep down we know there's a part of him in every one of us, a part that says that believes all values of human decency don't matter (if you want to see this concept further explored just watch the Dark Knight). By making him a kid who had mommy and daddy issues you take away a major part of what makes him interesting and instead Joker just becomes another generic crazy bad guy. The Killing Joke is NOT the Joker's origin story but instead an example of one of the Joker's many thought up origins. Even Joker acknowledges this in the story "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past I'd prefer it to be multiple choice." "Smallville was amazing" Thank you for that, I hadn't laughed so hard in a while. Gotham and Smallville both have similar problems where at first they tried to do new and interesting stuff but when people said they weren't interested they just turned the shows into nothing but terribly done fan service. I'm fine with something not being like the comics (the first two seasons of Arrow are great and are nothing like the Green Arrow comics) but I'd prefer if it was good and not just a load of bad fan service.
I alway got the feeling that Cameron kind of took different traits from multiple memorable version of the joker and use them to craft not only one but two new memorable version. It sad we don’t see Cameron in more stuff he is such very versatile actor. Sadly most the stuff he has been in lately beside Gotham and Shameless were flops due to bad storylines or bad acting from his co-stars.

Everyone praises him for his interpretation, but if you had ever read a comic, he was nothing like any of the comic Jokers. Leto plays a Dark Knight Returns Esq Joker, go watch those movies and you will see the resemblance. Hamill will always be the best Joker as he has played him the longest, it sucks that he is too old to physically play him or else there would be no comparison.

Wasif Kamal Ledger is kind of overrated imo. He was too serious as The Joker. I recall he laughed two times in a two hour movie. Dude, that's the Joker. Laughing and tricking people is what he does. Ledger was too dark and moody for my taste when it came to the fun side of the character. Not to mention that he looked nothing like the comics. Monaghan has Ledger's darkness, Hamill's joy and Nicholson's gangstar attitude. Even if you disagree, one thing is for sure. Everybody is better than Leto, yes even Romero.

Ledger's joker was perfect to me. This joker, Jerome, I find it amazing. Cameron did an amazing job, and Idk if anyone noticed but he took a lot of gestures and manners from Heath's joker. The thing with the tongue, the speaking tone, and even some ways of walking. Just watch the scene of Jerome and Lee and then The Dark Knight, and you will see it too.

Ben mckenzie said in a interview last month that the series will end with Bruce becoming batman. that was 100 percent confirmed we will see batman if not a glimpse into the season finale. now Gotham is its own thing is showing a different version of his journey of becoming batman. people like to bitch because it's not coping the comics who cares. marvel movies don't follow the comics and they completely ignore the source material and still everybody loves those movies. I can respect Gotham doing its own thing because it's dc and dc has the multiverse. just like smallville smallville was amazing it ignored the source material and he was fighting enemies he had no business fighting as a teen like doomsday blizzaro superman branaic the list goes on. The Joker is scary because he has no backstory. He could have been anyone before deciding to be a homicidal maniac. He's creepy because deep down we know there's a part of him in every one of us, a part that says that believes all values of human decency don't matter (if you want to see this concept further explored just watch the Dark Knight). By making him a kid who had mommy and daddy issues you take away a major part of what makes him interesting and instead Joker just becomes another generic crazy bad guy.
The Killing Joke is NOT the Joker's origin story but instead an example of one of the Joker's many thought up origins. Even Joker acknowledges this in the story "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past I'd prefer it to be multiple choice."

Gotham and Smallville both have similar problems where at first they tried to do new and interesting stuff but when people said they weren't interested they just turned the shows into nothing but terribly done fan service.
I'm fine with something not being like the comics (the first two seasons of Arrow are great and are nothing like the Green Arrow comics) but I'd prefer if it was good and not just a load of bad fan service.
