Chris Hakius was without a doubt one of the best drummers in this world. The drumming combined with Al's bass back on the early OM albums is some of the best music ever created.
rainbowthrustars That man is fucking genius. Im mostly a bass player but i play around on drums alot too and i always try to sound like him. He is the beast,
+PassiveRecordings Well he did play in OM later, but the last ever with Sleep. You should definitely check out OM; it's just Al and Chris, and it's fucking awesome.
Amazing! A show that I died that I was unable to attend. The drums are in good hands with Roeder, but man Haikus was a god. I'm so happy that we've had five new songs since this show. Hail!
Yep. He was wearing a knee brace of sorts during their practice sessions and when he retired he stated his knee as being the main reason and he was in too much pain and he felt that his playing wasn't up to par. :-(
That’s the most talkative I’ve heard Al. ❤️

I'll second that motion! Emil is good, but Chris has that laid back bad-assery that can't be copied!
its the trance they go into when they play man!

seriously sounds a beast coming out of his rig lmao, the mother of all heavy
Yes, agree....
God I wish this version with Haikus was put to tape… absolutely monstrous I love the faster tempo
Agreed
Much love to Chris Haikus for his last performance with Sleep.... Om was just as energized as Sleep and we love you Chris!
12:19 Al's hugs
this is footage of literally the LAST time Hakius ever played the drums. Ever.
+PassiveRecordings Well he did play in OM later, but the last ever with Sleep. You should definitely check out OM; it's just Al and Chris, and it's fucking awesome.
he stopped playing with om in 08
Hakius please return
@@kfayb2922 Hakius was a god, but Jason is really good too!
@@elivaris5861 yeah jason is good, I love haikus but jason is probably one of the few people who can getclose
what chris plays in the main verse of the song is called a stoner blast beat
the most emotional video i have ever seen
Al is quite touch at the end

wholesome Al
love that 7:30 and onward moment
hakius please come back
Got me all emotional at the end. Like Al knew that was a wrap.
MISS HAKIUS🪽
I want to see a full scale Sleep tour (that comes through MN). Along with a new album. That's pretty much my biggest wish in music right now.
griffin huff 2017
It's coming buddy
Its here
The Sciences Is Just awesome
So these wizards wrote this over a decade before release? And correct me if im wrong, this is the prologue to holy mountain originally?
Can't wait to see these boys -Hakius Feb 1st in Nashville.
This song rules.
i will see you again
This is Bill Ward level drumming.
3:54 *HEAVY AS FUCK NOT EVEN KING ARTHUR CAN LIFT*
Yeah 😂
so sick
HAKIUS!!!!! Such power he brought to Sleep. Man he is missed ... too bad the audio on this is muted.
Cool video! the new studio version is a superior song imo. Seems more fleshed out
The riff at the end of the vocal line is slightly different today on the recorded version, which I prefer. Still a great performance though!
Damn, I wish they recorded a studio version of this song.
I GOT SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!
Your dream came true
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
the best
Damn I love Roeder but I wish Hakius didn't have knee problems and could still be touringwith SLEEP.
didnt know he had knee problms
Yep. He was wearing a knee brace of sorts during their practice sessions and when he retired he stated his knee as being the main reason and he was in too much pain and he felt that his playing wasn't up to par. :-(
Personally I think Roeder is an improvement but Sleep would be no where without Chris
@@henrysmith8603 fuuucckk no man roeder is a great drummer but chris is on another level, he can't be touched
@@dylanfluker idk man I just don't find his drumming as interesting or dynamic as roeder's
Hey hakius!! c:
Al is God end of story
WEEDIAN
CHRIS HAKIUS
As far as 15 minutes songs go this is one of them.
Dear Sleep, please record a new album. I know this is crazy, but I have been known to come up with strange ideas.
What'd you think of the new one lol
Did they hit you up on that big guy?
It was at a point in my life when I needed that shit. Heavy and pure. My god, studio version of SONIC TITAN. It has ruined me.
I'm sad and loud.
What sucks is the newest version on the new album with fodder sounds much better. Haikus is great though.
