What I heard in this conversation was the social worker saying "I" and focuses more on what the social worker needs to do. Why not empower the client take responsibility and tell the judge herself. I personally think the social worker could have done a better job in this situation.

I would still fight for her to have visits with her daughter, but instead of unsupervised visits, make them supervised visits... at least until she can earn trust again. She obviously remorseful, but we can't risk putting the girl in danger. So, for awhile give the mother supervised visits and have her enroll in a support group too.

Great Video. I like theta the social worker didn't respond with a knee jerk admonishment and was honest about how it made her feel. I think one more step, would have been to encourage the mother to find a situation that disables her old boyfriend from contacting her since he is her apparent trigger.

I can barely hear this. I'm not completely clear what is going on. The sound is really bad.

None of the addicts (or even users) that I know have ever been truthful about how much or how often they use. This woman may be crying for help (the video is too short to show that); she might be okay with another chance, but if she has ANY contact with the former BF again, no more chances. It's just not reasonable to use a child (her daughter) to help her get clean and stay there. It's too much pressure on the child.

She didn't NEED to tell her, at all. Why would she lie?

Please consider urine testing for all clients!!! You cannot just take a persons word for this you need documented proof!!!
