I went to a concert a few months ago (the Shelter tour) with Jars of Clay and Matt Maher. I had never even heard of Audrey Assad but she opened the show, and it was just her and a keyboard. No band, nothing at all but that voice as she played along on the keys. She wore a t-shirt and jeans! It was phenomenal and I became an instant fan. I had never really seen anything quite like it. Just beautiful.

This is such a soothing reminder. I was trying to control a relationship that is the Lord's to control! Controlling it wouldn't be loving on my end anyway.
when I think God owns the cattle on a thousand hills...i see the cattle on the ranches of the Big Island off Hawaii... where I was able to serve the Lord for a year at a Christian school.
It's strange. The album version says "I'm letting it go". And it should most definitely say Can Let it Go. That's the whole point of this song. We can give up ourselves, our lives, our crap, all because it belongs to God in the first place. It's never truly been ours. We can let it go.
Her music is a good fit and next right step in my life right now.

to kkdkoolkat2 - perhaps you don't already know this but Audrey Assad sings christian music... meaning this exact song and most of her other songs have to do with God and her faith. So if Audrey is so strong in her faith and God, she already knows that God doesn't care whether she wears glasses or not, she is just as beautiful. Shame on you for not having the same wisdom. Audrey is a very talented, beautiful young woman. I saw her at a youth fest once, and I was blown away with her knowledge.
I cried when I heard this song. It is so healing for me. It's like one of those "duh" breakthrough moments, and I'm left with an obvious revelation about God that I've just never given much thought to before. I really nedded to hear this and am so greatful for it. Thank you.

For those of you who don't know she's a Catholic music artist.
It doesn't matter if people, or even she herself, tags her Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, or a member of any other denomination, as far as Jesus is concerned, she is His Child. She is using her God-given talent to glorify God. As the song goes, "Everything is God's [including the person singing the song]." She does not belong to the Catholic church but to Jesus, to God, to the Holy Spirit.
By saying, she is Catholic, you seem to be creating divisions in Christ. Jesus does not want divisions in His Church.

I'm not sure if the lyrics are "can" or "can't", but I sing them as can't because to me, it means I never had them in my hand to begin with so I can't let them go. They're already in God's hands, there's nothing there to let go.
