- This exercise is a fantastic warm up for Figure Skaters wanting greater edge control, and is especially relevant for Ice Dancers.
Drilling a curve transition in this way allows us to learn to conserve momentum and also become more powerful due to a better preparation for our next push.
This exercise also gives us an opportunity to tune in to the relationship between our position on a curve (point that we are on the circle) and the flow of body shapes that aid us to employ greater control.

Fantastic attention to details. I love this.
Enjoy this channel and your professional advice. Could you do a video tour of the skating rink? It is beautiful with all the brickwork. Would love to see it highlighted by a narrated walking tour.
Thanks, Alexandra Palace is the most iconic ice rink interiors in the UK.
The entire venue has the architectural wow factor…and the view over London 😍
Very useful video, I'm having a hard time leaning into the outside edge.
You laughed at the person who fell, right? 😂
I could see the fall in the screen as I recorded…so unfortunately, yes I did.
Kid didn’t hurt himself, but perfect timing for my one and only take for this video
@@IceSkatingLondon It's what I imagine, but don't worry I'll ask you because you gave me your laughter and I started laughing too, it was just curiosity.
By the way thank you very much for all your videos and explanations so detailed and professional, I am a beginner and your advice has helped me a lot.
PS: are you single 😅 ?
