I joined Western skies after watching this video.m about 3 weeks ago. Definitely a amazing community, great RP, admin is great! It’s my favorite server so far Dakota river bend to me is the most beginner friendly, they have good controller support, simple easy to use menus, and a very high population to interact with.
Your review helped me so much! I mostly play on controller rather than keyboard when I play red dead and I was hoping it would be the same for RP servers but unfortunately not so much. Definitely will look into Dakota river!
As a new RedM player, Western Skies RP has been pretty nice. They are very helpful and staff is pretty chill. The only negative experience I had on the server was that I got banned for five minutes because they thought I was a wizard (modder) but they reinstated it after a few minutes and were very apologetic about it. People in the server are pretty friendly and helpful. It is also dominantly a server with a lot of people from the UK, as it is a UK server, as they use Celsius and Kilograms instead of the systems that us Americans use. Highly recommend checking it out.

I have been in DRB and recently Ranch. I started on DRB as a new RPer and the people there just are great. There are some things that bother me after being there for 8 months but honestly I am too hooked. And there IS amazing RP. You sure get people who are there to stick to themselves and do their jobs. But don't think that just because it's a beginner friendly server teh people all suck at RP. I have only been in Ranch for a couple of days but the environment tehre is just wonderful and what i really love is how lively the towns are, i have NEVER seen Saint Denis as full.
I think what the he failed to realize is that the servers he provides. Are some of the more popular servers based upon player count. And generally all of these servers with higher player counts. Usually take the back seat and it draws in the casual RPers. For example most of these servers he lists except Wild RP. Are all Semi-Serious in nature in regards to their RP. And some of them are worse they feel like Read Dead Online but with no KOS rules is all. If you care about serious RP I'd look elsewhere to some of the starting servers. Also pro tip any server that offers any Pay to Win mechanic is garbage and should be avoided. There was a server named Yellowstone RP where this happened. The owner had is own in game currency where you can buy these coins with real life money. Also another pro tip, if the server is not a good one. Is to analyze the dialogue between your conversations and others. If they use verbage or lingo from our time and they are always OOC. Do not waste your time and leave. Its better to join a server with 30-40 people in it then a full one. Especially if the RP is awesome!
Syn County is a streamer server friendly County. If you beef streamer and have one rule break, you're banned. But the streamers can do whatever they want

Interesting. I found DRB, it’s staff, it’s community and actual server mechanics the best on RedM, by a long long shot. It’s the only full controller server and feels very polished and professional. What issues did you have?

RP servers are the most toxic community I have ever seen. I have never rp'ed before and wanted to try it. Big mistake they are all control freak nerds, I ended up giving up. So I jumped threw the hoops of joining the discord , redm and filling out the applications. Got denied on all of them including ones in this video. I even got banned on one for having a VPN, that is fishy. Some of the numerous reasons my applications were denied. Not having recording software, Not knowing the answers to some of the technical question in the application, Not having a good enough back story, ect, ect, ect. How do they expect ppl to learn about rp if they cant even try it. Just a huge waste of time. I wish there was a server that was not so anal to try it out. But Im not going to waste my time on jumping threw anymore hoops.
Looks like you need to join devils gorge all of us in county keep those types people away from ours and the owner will not tolerate it and we dont even rob each other csuse we all come together and help ewch other out
Dakota River Bend is super friendly, and more casual. That’s not to say it’s only light RP, or that you can’t be a hardcore RPer, it’s just more forgiving than some other places. The mechanics themselves are more casual, giving more room to concentrate on social interactions. The community is amazing.

Forgotten Trails is one of the top servers on the list and you didn't even mention that one been playing on it for a year and it's been one of the best servers I've ever been on
Syn County sucks if you don't want to be an outlaw. They also don't allow a lot of character builds. You also get experienced players preying on new players. The moderators are unwilling to do their job, insisting hilarious things like not being able to see if you are in a safe zone unless you submit a screen cap video.
Great server I joined was DEADWOOD VALLEY RP they have tons of great mods all possible jobs and active helpful staff to help out. Active and growing! Updated regularly! 🤠
Zez, Got a question! Which RP servers actually have NPCs active? I've wanted to get into RedM but half the things I find, the maps are barren! Basically like all NPC's are off or close to zero. I want a lively experience not just players and an empty map.

In my experience with Syn County, they are a lot less roleplay focused. I enjoyed my time there, however me and pretty much everyone I met stopped playing. They just cater more towards being a criminal like Zez said, and in-depth genuine roleplay is less of their style. Me and a buddy were told we couldnt continue using one of our characters because their roleplay was too in-depth more or less.
well it looks really nice from the series you have done but is so weird you go TS and pluggins. is an old voice and voice record and is just enoying you need that fore 1 game. TS was so buggy and crashed alot back in the days.

As a twitch viewer of WildRP, I can confirm the standard of RP is extremely high, with a huge percentage of the Wild population being streamers as well. It's amazing being able to see the same encounter from multiple perspectives. If (for example) a bank robbery is taking place you can normally see it from both a Crim in the bank perspective, and a LEO's who is responding to the robbery - which just adds sooo much excitement and entertainment as a viewer. I honestly have stopped watching TV since discovering WildRP streamers - It's better than most TV shows.
Only problem is you need a $300+ mic to even apply. i understand not allowing headset microphones but denying people for damn near flawless studio mics because they didn't cost enough dabloons is cringe

I think it's fair to say that most people would easily spend $300 on a hobby/pastime, especially if it's something they will get alot of use out of. An Xbox controller is like $65, A game is about the same... I feel quite confident in saying that everyone that reads this comment will spend $300+ on a pastime this year, so in that context getting a decent mic isn't really that much of a hardship.
I played syn county for awhile and I mean awhile, it was a good server for awhile but the owner and the moderator are the most corrupt I've seen in any of other server, the staff constantly abuse their power while the owner just lets it happens, if you're not friends with any of the staff, and you either kill them or rob them, they will retaliate with either a ban or some sort of punishment. Everyone else is pretty cool and the rp can be good but the staff are the major downside. 3/10
really love wildrp been watching Vertz ever scenes he got on with bazz and McCloud a really great sever with amazing rp'ers even Vertz is a master at it with mostly with wallaby's story so far man at first funny kid just having fun to a man that has been throw some dark stuff as of now can't really saw much don't want to give it away so go watch it your self's on verts gaming and his always live on twitch

As a point of constructive criticism I think you would greatly benefit from slowing your pace of speaking and maybe talk in more of an average range of pitch as well. Hope this feedback helps.

i was in syn county i tried to be a lawman never gave my any training i was only law in valentine for 2 weeks ago fired on my birthday saying i am useless but they never gave me trying plus the admin was crime he would use his admin tools spawn behidden my then i was alone in town and other time then i tried to arrest him his friend shoot me without saying anything allowing rdm, new dakota also tried to be a lawman there the same as syn never gave me training and would hire famous twitch sherriffs to be lawman then they never sit a day in the server,Western Skies and wild wants me to get they branded mic whats next tell my what pc i need? ranch have basic jobs what all others severs have plus everyone have they own circle of group same with gilled but also if you dont own a business you not going to have a career because cash register so it self help because off that if you dont own a business you not getting a job there no bartenders as a example because it self help and gold rush i have same problem then i ask a fivem person if they would try redm they would say they tried gold rush didnt like it because economic ridiculous high and it takes you a week to get basic needs like a horse.

Dakota River Bend is really nice. But during peak times there are a 25 player queue now. It's definitely a great server.

I think you can get away with just using online for all of them though expect some silly none game breaking bugs to ensue

No because RedM as a whole is 18+, just like rdr2 is 18+ due to its gore, shooting, abuse, sex. etc.

I played syn county for awhile and I mean awhile, it was a good server for awhile but the owner and the moderator are the most corrupt I've seen in any of other server, the staff constantly abuse their power while the owner just lets it happens, if you're not friends with any of the staff, and you either kill them or rob them, they will retaliate with either a ban or some sort of punishment. Everyone else is pretty cool and the rp can be good but the staff are the major downside. 3/10
really love wildrp been watching Vertz ever scenes he got on with bazz and McCloud a really great sever with amazing rp'ers even Vertz is a master at it with mostly with wallaby's story so far man at first funny kid just having fun to a man that has been throw some dark stuff as of now can't really saw much don't want to give it away so go watch it your self's on verts gaming and his always live on twitch

When it comes to RP it's self wild takes #1. Ranch has gone soft whitelisted, peak hours the queue can be awhile.

So most of these servers are based in America right? I'm assuming joining them from Europe is out of the question and will result in super-high, unplayable ping? If so, are any of these servers Europe based or are there any good ones in Europe?
Most of the European servers are language specific. There are some UK servers out there too. I wouldn’t let Ping stop you from trying the US servers.

i would not recommend western skies rp, their admin tend to powergame and metagame when they dont get what they want. HIGHTLY NOT suggest that server.
As a point of constructive criticism I think you would greatly benefit from slowing your pace of speaking and maybe talk in more of an average range of pitch as well. Hope this feedback helps.

i was in syn county i tried to be a lawman never gave my any training i was only law in valentine for 2 weeks ago fired on my birthday saying i am useless but they never gave me trying plus the admin was crime he would use his admin tools spawn behidden my then i was alone in town and other time then i tried to arrest him his friend shoot me without saying anything allowing rdm, new dakota also tried to be a lawman there the same as syn never gave me training and would hire famous twitch sherriffs to be lawman then they never sit a day in the server,Western Skies and wild wants me to get they branded mic whats next tell my what pc i need? ranch have basic jobs what all others severs have plus everyone have they own circle of group same with gilled but also if you dont own a business you not going to have a career because cash register so it self help because off that if you dont own a business you not getting a job there no bartenders as a example because it self help and gold rush i have same problem then i ask a fivem person if they would try redm they would say they tried gold rush didnt like it because economic ridiculous high and it takes you a week to get basic needs like a horse.

then you get rebel west run by crazy narcissist i just shared screenshot of my character how he looks in redm vs fivem and threating me saying she will report my discord account for harassment she is a crazy narcissist.

I do love the idea of rping typical cowboy stuff but I also kinda want some of that rare Easter egg side stuff from the base game where you can find creepy serial killer gore art, gangs with disturbing scenes at their camp and maybe even light supernatural elements like the swamp ghost girl or the whispering woods or ghost train or the spooky pentagram under the house in butchers creek
