I'm guessing it's that Welker's gotten too old and his voice ain't up to being the screaming, snarling Megs from the 1980s--so he goes for something even better: sneering sarcasm and an intense presence.

My favorite part from this scene is Megs grabbing/holding Starscream in his jet mode as he attempted to flee. When Megatron did that I was just so amazed. That was one of the few times we see him truly pissed and it was fucking awesome.

One of Megatron’s most quotable scenes in all of TFP, and there are many of them.
No matter who voices him, Frank Welker will always be Megatron to me.

Megatron threw Starscream so hard he forced him out of his transformation back to his robot body. Absolute evil chad.
Even though David Kaye is a great cartoon megatron and Hugo Weaving is also a good choice (for the live action meagtron), their is no denying that Frank Welker will always be the superior Megatron.
Welker combines the sophistication of David kaye & savagery of Hugo Weaving

The reason Frank Welker is The Superior Voice for Megatron because he’s the Original Voice for Megatron.
Transformers Prime was Frank Welker's peak Megatron, in my eyes. It was like a more refined, intimidating G1 Megs.

Why? Starscream embodies what it means to be a Decepticon. He's the next in line to command and Megatron is preparing him for that role, a role that has to be taken by the strongest and smartest, something Starscream so far proves he hasn't fully mastered yet. But he's still a huge problem for the Autobots, so he's doing something useful for Megatron to keep him around.
Personally i would just off the guy and make a qualified decision of who I thought would be best choice to continue my legacy, but then we would just be where Megatron already is and what he already does, in his own way.
Honestly megatrons entire existence is a mistake he's a f****** hypocritical angry bucket he's a great character I just love to despise him

We need legit Figures of these models, they're gorgeous, especially when they're animated by you! So glad you are using them like this!
That Megatron already exists, not too expensive either. It's Mega Action Series Megatron. I have the Optimus version and it's a fantastic figure, love the Pat Lee design but didn't felt that Megatron was anything to bother with.
When it comes to Starscream, then it's either go for a statue or hope something better is in the near future. Highly doubtful considering his wings, but less possible things have happened in the past so its possible it might happen.
I have a request! Can you do the TFP Clip where Team Prime gets the Omega Keys back from Megatron and the Decepticons??

You what would be cool to see? A short movie version of the 86 film by using the Bayformers designs. Here is my idea of the lineup:
-Autobots: Optimus Prime, Dinobots, Ratchet, Ironhide, Crosshair, Arcee(the original concept for 2007 film), Drift, Hound, Wheelie, Jazz, Dino, Sideswipe, Jolt, Ultra Magnus(a clone of Optimus design without faceplate, Hot Rod(get rid of the french accent), Que(remove his teeth and neon hairs, and give him a helmet and a ordinary mouth).
-Decepticons: Megatron, Starscream, Thundercracker, Nitro Zeus(get rid of the hood personality), Barricade(2007 design), Soundwave(alt mode is a SUV so he can be larger), Stinger, Constructicons, Insecticons(many mini-insect, drones), Bonecrusher, Brawl, Blackout, Soundwave's minions Ravage, Laserbeak, Frenzy, Rumble and Shockwave. In addition to Decepticon drone army we see from DOTM.
-Unicron will be the main antagonist. Megatron will evt be transformed to Galavatron like AOE, but give him a cannon on his right arm. Thundercracker will be Cyclonus, Nitro Zeus to Scourge the tracker and the other drones damaged in the Autobot city war will be turned into the Sweeps.
-Hot Rod will use the matrix to defeat Galvatron and destroy Unicron. He will be transformed into a larger autobot and get a more humanoid face.
-Crosshair will take the role of Spiner and be Arcee's girlfriend. Hound takes the role of KUP. Wheelie will get a new design and will face Soundwave's minions.
-Shockwave will be more like his G1 part. A scientist but he will be with Megatron to fight the Autobots on Earth.
-Dinobots have personalities and can talk.

sometimes I wish we saw Megatron's termination of Starscream after this scene potentially an actual 1v1 of Megatron vs, Starscream with Starscream just begging and trying to prove his use to Megatron while also trying not to get the shit beaten out of him. Just feel like it'd be a cool scene.
Would’ve preferred with the Bay designs (as I think they just fit with Prime’s whole aesthetic better than the G1 styled designs), but this is fantastic regardless.

TFP is still one of my favorite Transformers series in the modern era (mainly because I need to sit down and watch Cyberverse, RID 2015 was a bad sequel and one of the first true sequel series for another show since Transformers: Energon, and IDW comics wasn’t my cup of tea.) from characters, to action, to in think one of the best Optimus Prime and Megatron since Transformers: Animated I just enjoy a good evil Megatron and one that is very intelligent. The story of the series was great and characters like Arcee still are on my list of my favorite female characters. With Arachnid being my Favorite female villain (mainly because they didn’t try to redeem her she was evil to her spark and sometimes that great.) Bulkheads second appearance in series was great. The only problem was that last minute Bumblebee being a good choice as a leader thing in my mind Smokescreen is was Optimus Primes successor it seemed like it was set up that way from him being mentored by Alpha Trion to being more like Jack (which if you watched the series Ratchet described Orion Pax as being more like Jack before he became Optimus Prime.) I just felt that was what they were building up to.

Let's be honest the only reason they show Megatron beating starscream's ass like a step dad to a rebellious teen, is because it was too brutal and violent which just shows how bad starscream fucked up

As someone not quite privy to the in's and out's of using SFM or- 3D animation programs in general, can you talk me through the process of lip syncing here? Because truth be told that's the only thing I could critique about this
Is there a- setting you can just enable that maps out the lip sync based on the audio you provide or is it all manual?
It's all manual, it's tricky as transformers don't have tongue models. But I give it my best

respectfully, I don't think the absence of a tongue model is the primary issue here. Every time their mouth opens or closes, it's in the same shape, the same animation at varying speeds. Altering the degree to which their mouth opens along with varying the shapes they make would go a LONG way to strengthening that lip syncing
