The only problem I found with the 25 ft class C is the slide for the bed area. Opted for 32 ft instead and love it. It is a little more difficult to get into some tight spots, but I've not really had a problem. Best part is I can get up at 4am, walk to the front and drive off. 👍

Some of those welcome centers when you enter a state are awesome! I don't remember what state it was but we were stopping to use the restroom. This Lady put together a bunch of information for our kids. They handed it to use so they could do the activities while we drove through the state.
I couldn't find a rand McNally ANYWHERE last fall. No one carried them any longer, so I ordered mine off internet. Everyone told me they quit carrying them because everyone uses GPS now.
I have found in several areas of the country that we weren't able to get a phone signal, so we bought a GPS off EBay. It saved us several times. We also carry a Rand McNally, and highlight every road we travel on to keep a record of where we have been!
i used to travel through canada. if you want your credit cards to work, call your card companies and let them know where your traveling ahead of leaving. saves lots of head aches.
My hubby and I grew up in CO too. I like the paper maps and want them for backup for the bigger crap that's coming out way. We have dry food in our RV too. Good planning is important.
@@laurae.4285- Suggestion- I use old cookie tins, popcorn tins, candy tins, etc. In fact, people now know that I use them, so they give me theirs after the cookies and such are all eaten up. The tins are not heavy, and mice can’t get in.
The world is not what it used to be. One of the reasons I went full time. I agree with the points you made. But the most important thing is trust in your Protecter. I have had many 1st year issues and every single time I have learned something from it and God has sent me to exactly the right people to help me and keep me safe. No matter what city. One shop let me plug in for 3 days waiting for parts in their fenced lot and gave me a gate key, let me use their shower, and gifted me a dozen eggs from their chickens. I've had some scary moments as well but my mantra now is "Fear is a lack of Faith." Not that I'm not careful or have means to protect myself. My most important safety measure in my Class C is to just leave. But in order to process your situation effectively you need to stay calm. And God is helping me with that challenge. At the end of the day, it's all up to Him. And He has never let me down. Even when I forgot He was involved. Lol! Not preaching. Just sharing. Never give up on your mission guys. And John keep putting it out there. It's the reason God made you! Thanks to you both. God bless!
We've been RVing for over 30 years now. Definitely have had to adjust to changing times with regards to safery. Doesn't stop us from traveling but much more aware of our surroundings especially when boondocking. Also always monitor " health" of our coach with regular air, oil, transmission checks. We do carry weapons but hope to never use them. Been seeing more crazier drivers that dont like rv'ers but we just let them pass without any incident.
10:17 Thank you. We're selling our RV, it's too big and older. Never did full time. But these hints are good for visiting families traveling. God bless y'all
There are only two of us traveling, so for dishwashing, hot water to make our French Press coffee or hot tea at night, we just use a tea kettle on the propane stove, or an electric hot pot if at hookups. We rarely fire up the hot water tank. Also, if you have a little left over soapy water from dishes keep it in the dishpan for a quick hand wash (reduces some water use).
Thanks for all the great tips..... A complete off-grid solar system could be huge if things really get bad..... Whether it's a small system to just keep enough power to stay connected to the outside world or a huge system to run all 3 A/Cs all day long..... Glad to see u guys RVing again.....

@@RVOddCouple We both know that you can't say what you really think on YT. I know what you're saying though about the cities. I always watch the video, the ads and give you a thumbs up. I'm not a traveler but have been following you for many years just because I love you (especially beautiful Sage)!
True! True! True! Out on the road is NOT the same… I’ve been taking solo trips for years I’m 59. In the last 4-5 years a lot of driving between California, Oregon and currently Spokane/Idaho. Populated cities yes have a very sad strange feeling. Some of the cities do have “zombies” sadly no joke… 🙏🏼🙌🏼🌺☕️
Great video guys. It’s important people learn how to read paper maps and have some kind of radio. At the very least, a CB. Comes in handy to get info, in a pinch. Truckers can be helpful
RV Tip: (17 years full-timing) Propane use: This holds true whether in a campground or boondocking. Turn OFF the water heater. Plan hot water usage for once per day. Turn ON the water heater only when you PLAN for it. Reason: My Atwood water heater took an hour to heat ten gallons on propane only. During the 24 hour period the heater burned 10 minutes every two hours. That is 2 hours burn-time every 24, after the initial heating, just to KEEP the water hot (three hours burned). I am not even awake during 40 minutes of burn. Better to plan ahead. Using the elec plus propane shortens burn time, but the rate of heat loss would still require a maintenance booster every two hours, so this holds true. Plan Ahead. Turn it OFF. Note: I used this Plan Ahead idea, using propane to heat water in a campground where each site was individually monitored for elec. The park manager commented that I hardly used any electricity. PS, under the Plan Ahead, I hardly used any propane either.
I used to love RV'ing. I still have my motorhome, and I keep it maintained, but I just don't feel like being on the road anymore. Strange times. Plus, I have chickens now, because I don't trust the food supply. Mercedes will understand about the chickens. 😊
It would have been a clincher for me, if you had shown, in succession, 5 or so video clips from different states depicting the homless conditions you describe. In fact, this gives me a good idea for a video. Thank you very much Odd Couple.
You are correct. Before 2020 we never took protection. Now we do but each state has different rules. Illinois is the worst. We could not avoid it on our recent 3,000 friends and family visits.
A real down to earth video. Thanks. We keep our tanks full too. And we make sure to have tire changing tools. Even if you can’t do the work, having the tools means someone else can help! Be cautious and that goes a long way.
I installed a bed fuel tank. I have 82 gallons. I can got about 800 miles before I have to stop. I plan for being outside the major cities. I also look at crime reports.
This was really great info! We are about to move to the south and cross the country in our RV in doing so. Oh, and I love Mercedes lists! That's exactly what I do!
There are many blue states, with safer red areas, usually bordering a red state, like MA and NH ..just be aware of surroundings, don't live in fear, as God did not give us a spirit of fear!!
You are so right. The situation in America has gotten worse rapidly. Drugs have become a huge problem with so many foolish people Thanks for these tips. I remember when your videos covered these issues each time. Sorry Mercedes, we men love to mark out territories.
Crazy thing where I am at now has police cameras and Constantine wire around the campground. Been RVing full time now for 3 years. And RV sites are outrageously expensive. Agree people in big cities don’t acknowledge anyone. Besides finally retiring in 2020, San Diego’s homeless was getting out of hand even in the suburbs. Safe travels. Be at Camp Gratitude in couple weeks for short stay. 🙏🏻😊
I would add, I prefer a stand alone GPS when traveling. In my experience garmin works better than tomtom. The separate GPS doesn’t require a web connection and doesn’t need to share the screen on your phone.
Lots of good advice, I've seen the changes too. I now avoid all medium and large cities due to over abundance of crazy people and crime. Due to gun restrictions in many areas I keep multiple cans of Wasp & Hornet Spray on hand for self defense. Just aim for the eyes. Highly effective on both 2 and 4 legged threats, stopping them in their tracks without killing them. Never letting fuel or water get below half of what your rig can carry is a practice that's saved many lives, could save yours if things go bad. And remember Cash is always King when you need something. Accounts get hacked or frozen, electronic payments don't work when the grid is down. Yet there is always someone ready to take a cash payment. Any and all of the above, could be the difference between being a survivor, or a statistic. Most Importantly, Always Trust Your Gut. Even if you don't understand why, if something feels wrong, you don't want any part of what's coming.
My daughter and her husband went to San Antonio a couple weeks ago. Nightmare. Just like you said. In the tourist areas_ they were very uneasy b eing there. Country has definitely changed You are so correct guys. You are not making it up.!!! Thanks guys. We have got to get up there and see your campground. We are members. Charley and Laura Ocala.

We did that most of the way. Slow but lots of fun

Great tips. Thank you. We live in the outskirts of Albuquerque, NM and really only go into the city for doctor appointments, and such. We love the more rural life. Yes, keep the tank as full as possible, have paper map backups, keep alert, and watch each other's back at rest stops, etc. Always assess your surroundings. Still have fun out in nature but stay safe. Oh yes, occasional 'pee stops' for men and ladies when out of the public eye. When nature calls, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
Love the rural life
I love you guys! Today is the first I've found you, but I'll join soon. You've got so much information and I believe you're right. We need to be prepared.
Amen!
Don't forget the old fashion compass with your paper maps.
We have boondocked for years don't feel safe now..30 million unknowns across the border squatters now looking for RVs..my cousins got stolen in Panama City FL while disconnected with many other RVs in the parking lot they were in-between 2 large fithwheels
Took their new 25foot travel trailer..we stay aware of our surroundings it's sad but true.. praying for everyones safety.. greetings from NC and just one more mile.. beautiful campground I wear my thunder canyon family is camping but heaven is home tee shirt and get compliments we recommend this campground they are like family
Some of those welcome centers when you enter a state are awesome!
I don't remember what state it was but we were stopping to use the restroom. This Lady put together a bunch of information for our kids. They handed it to use so they could do the activities while we drove through the state.
Self an family safety an preservation we've done this all my life
Always
Go ahead and say what you want John. You are right ON You have been right most of the time. Great safety tips.
Thank you Laura
Remember: Google maps lies!! The big old Rand McNally from Walmart is the best map around.
That’s what we use! Rand McNally. It’s Irish book
I couldn't find a rand McNally ANYWHERE last fall. No one carried them any longer, so I ordered mine off internet. Everyone told me they quit carrying them because everyone uses GPS now.
@@Lifeisgreat2023 I bought mine at Walmart back in the Electronics dept earlier this year, but it was $20. It use to be $5.99.
I have found in several areas of the country that we weren't able to get a phone signal, so we bought a GPS off EBay. It saved us several times. We also carry a Rand McNally, and highlight every road we travel on to keep a record of where we have been!
@@jonsiewers4693 That's a great suggestion!!
When all the crap hits the fan, you will not want to be out on the road. Get your ham license.
Nope!
I used to mark my territory too. Now i'm kicked out of Walmart produce section
i used to travel through canada. if you want your credit cards to work, call your card companies and let them know where your traveling ahead of leaving. saves lots of head aches.
My hubby and I grew up in CO too. I like the paper maps and want them for backup for the bigger crap that's coming out way. We have dry food in our RV too. Good planning is important.
Gotta have a plan👍
Just started watching the both of you. You are GREAT!!! God Bless America!
Thank you 😀 God bless you as well🙏
Ah Ha!! I knew you guys were preppers!! LOL. Seriously, junk silver is the way to go. And good job having that dry food resource available.
You got that right!
Only one little problem with dry goods...
Mice. 😵💫
@@laurae.4285- Suggestion- I use old cookie tins, popcorn tins, candy tins, etc. In fact, people now know that I use them, so they give me theirs after the cookies and such are all eaten up. The tins are not heavy, and mice can’t get in.
@@jeanne8507Good advice; I had been wondering, myself, about how that bagged rice could attract rodents!! Thanks for sharing!
@@cathythornton6332 - You’re very welcome!
God bless!
Well-spoken and true 🙏🙏🙏 Amen!
The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Come, Jesus, come. I want to give my late mother a big hug in the presence of the Almighty. But, let me stay a little and love my wife before that.
God bless y'all
Glad you guys are having a great time. Stay safe, hopefully will be staying at camp gratitude by fall. 🌞🌴
Yes we are
There are only two of us traveling, so for dishwashing, hot water to make our French Press coffee or hot tea at night, we just use a tea kettle on the propane stove, or an electric hot pot if at hookups. We rarely fire up the hot water tank. Also, if you have a little left over soapy water from dishes keep it in the dishpan for a quick hand wash (reduces some water use).
Great tips! Thank you
One of the reasons we are wanting out of the SC coast - soooo scary.
🙏🙏👍
Thanks for all the great tips.....
A complete off-grid solar system could be huge if things really get bad.....
Whether it's a small system to just keep enough power to stay connected to the outside world or a huge system to run all 3 A/Cs all day long.....
Glad to see u guys RVing again.....
You can put a vacation travel alert on all of your cards letting them know in advance what states you will be visiting so your card is not declined. I also have alerts on my cards to alert me of every purchase I make so I know immediately if my card is compromised.
That's a great idea!
Got rid of everything. Will try Raving for a while full time. We have solars , mini splits, and good old defense tools. As a Miami girl I have lived through some heavy stuff in the 80. Cuídense y q Dios los bendiga.
Don't hold back, John. Tell us how you REALLY feel!!😂
It was building up William!
@@RVOddCouple We both know that you can't say what you really think on YT. I know what you're saying though about the cities. We can barely drive around our small town because the homeless are walking in the streets like zombies and won't get out of the way of traffic. It's scary and, because we are in a blue controlled town, the police aren't allowed to do anything about it. Be safe and God go with you!!
@@WilliamHearnTOEFL_Tutor stay safe William
Over reaction once again. Makes me tired.
My husband was born in Aurora, Colorado. Small world. His Mom and Dad were both in the Navy.
Aurora has changed so much
You're kinda scaring me. I'm planning a 6 week trip this summer. I plan on staying off the major highways and big cities. I will be unable to bring my "pursuader" since i will be going into Canada to see family. But prayer is my weapon of choice. Joshua 1:9
Prayer is good🙏❤️
So true. As a full timer, I focus on essentials such as rv battery power and solar generators. In total i can carry 67 gallons of water and have a reverse osmosis system for river or lake water and 60 days of dry food in addition to what is in my fridge. Hotspot and Starlink are my means of communication as well as an emergency communicator. And small towns rule. Be safe>
Good stuff Jersey Joe! 👍
@@RVOddCouple My Aliner may be small, but I live large out of it. 😂

Suggestion: pickup the most recently published Rand McNally road atlas containing maps for every US State and Canadian province (for those traveling to Canada) for navigation.
Thank you
Great information thanks guys. I have a 2016 Winnebago View the discontinued G floor plan and am able to go just about anywhere parking is easy. Things have really changed in America I only hope we can get our country back on track.
Pray 🙏
I always watch the video, the ads and give you a thumbs up. I'm not a traveler but have been following you for many years just because I love you (especially beautiful Sage)!
Thanks for that Sharon❤️❤️❤️ Sage is beautiful
True! True!
Stay safe
Great video guys. It’s important people learn how to read paper maps and have some kind of radio. At the very least, a CB. Comes in handy to get info, in a pinch. Truckers can be helpful
Great advise from like minded people. Thank you!!!
Awesome Tip Timothy! Thank you
In the areas where John has marked his territory....the bears keep their distance.
🤣😂🤣🤷♂️
We were trying to buy a Ford class B with bed, bath, kitchen. 120k at the time. Three years later. Now I can get it for 65-75k. First warning sign.
Be careful and have an inspection done👍
Great tips, especially the bonus tip at the end. God bless your little family.
God bless you Jeanette 🙏❤️
We are in crazy times. OPS Sec is important. Probably many are blowing this off. I'm not one of them. Safe travels. God bless y'all.
God bless you as well
I used to love RV'ing. I still have my motorhome, and I keep it maintained, but I just don't feel like being on the road anymore. Strange times. Plus, I have chickens now, because I don't trust the food supply. Mercedes will understand about the chickens. 😊
lol… Mercedes loves her Chickens 🐓
If I read between the lines correctly, I agree with and love everything that you didn’t say , lol. Great message.
Don't Worry so much, God will take us to the Destination he has planned for us ! Yes 25 footers Rock !!! Happy Travels !
Yes
It would have been a clincher for me, if you had shown, in succession, 5 or so video clips from different states depicting the homless conditions you describe. In fact, this gives me a good idea for a video. Thank you very much Odd Couple.
You are correct. Before 2020 we never took protection. Now we do but each state has different rules. Illinois is the worst. We could not avoid it on our recent 3,000 friends and family visits.
We avoid IL like the plague
A real down to earth video. Thanks. We keep our tanks full too. And we make sure to have tire changing tools. Even if you can’t do the work, having the tools means someone else can help! Be cautious and that goes a long way.
Keep your head on a swivel
I installed a bed fuel tank. I have 82 gallons. I can got about 800 miles before I have to stop. I plan for being outside the major cities. I also look at crime reports.
Lot's of good information. Y'all stay safe out there.
You too David
Marking the territory, indeed, is guys "thing".....because we can...even write our name in the snow..
This was really great info! We are about to move to the south and cross the country in our RV in doing so. Oh, and I love Mercedes lists! That's exactly what I do!
Mercedes love her lists❤️
Yes she is❤️
I always plan and route from the gas station I just fueled up at to the next gas station that I will be at a 1/2 of a tank at.
👍
Don’t think you can just go by Red State. A lot of those states have Blue Cities. Places we don’t go to
Good point
There are many blue states, with safer red areas, usually bordering a red state, like MA and NH ..just be aware of surroundings, don't live in fear, as God did not give us a spirit of fear!!
Thank ❤ You. . You two are great !
You are so right. The situation in America has gotten worse rapidly. Drugs have become a huge problem with so many foolish people
Thanks for these tips. I remember when your videos covered these issues each time.
Sorry Mercedes, we men love to mark out territories.
Yes we do 😀
marking your spot is a country thing, I always do, just if you have cattle don't mark your territory on an electric fence John
Did that once! Never again
Looking forward to seeing you 🙏
I would add, I prefer a stand alone GPS when traveling. In my experience garmin works better than tomtom. The separate GPS doesn’t require a web connection and doesn’t need to share the screen on your phone.
You hit the nail on the head!!!
My favorite grandfather granddaughter couple
❤️❤️❤️
I always bring my weather radar along and know what county you are staying in
Lots of good advice, I've seen the changes too.
Haha!! "Marking territory" is definitely a guy thing. Ask Ned King.....
😂😂
Normal to me
My daughter and her husband went to San Antonio a couple weeks ago. Nightmare. Just like you said. In the tourist areas_ they were very uneasy b eing there. Country has definitely changed You are so correct guys. You are not making it up.!!! Thanks guys. We have got to get up there and see your campground. We are members. Charley and Laura Ocala.

I let our credit cards and bank know our travel plans. They actually make note of the states that we will be traveling though. This way my cards won't be denied.
Thank you😀
Yes, you do this online at the credit card's web site after you login.
I have a big pot. I boil water to wash dishes when propane is low. Our tankless eats propane like 🤪.
