I also started in the can o worms too and now have a bath tub and I’m about to start a second bathtub. Handy having a neighbour who does house renovations and needs somewhere to dispose of old bathtubs 😁
you can speed your worm farm up by blending up the scraps, blending it increases the surface area speeding up the rotting process allowing you to add more.
Good tip, thanks Paige. I had a friend who said theirs went nuts when they started juicing and only putting the juice pulp in. I tried it a while back but found it heated up too much in summer so then decided it wasn’t worth the effort 🤣 so now I just give them their favourites.
The one that I stick to now is rabbit poop in pine wood shavings mixed with coffee grounds, they go through it so well and when they are finished the casting is so fine and soft I just sift the bigger pine chips out and my garden loves it!
But I also feed house and garden scraps to the chickens compost system, and we have in ground bucket compost systems like mini subpods to help feed the garden worm populations and I do normal composting in our large garden bed under a shady tree, which made the garden and the tree take off haha 😄

Definitely handy when you get them for free.
I freeze my scraps and thaw before feeding! They love it but blending does work too
It does, they churn through it but I am also lazy 😂
Yes good tip, I switched over to freezing scraps too. It apparently starts the decomposition process.
That's a great setup I've seen so many of these bathtub worm farm setups this has got to be the most aesthetic and functional one
You like our screen door lid? 😂 it works well

I had a can o worms given to me and after 3 weeks I went back to my storage crate!
I’ve never really had success with the can o worms
