The 80s was probably one of the best eras in Scottish football. Genuine competition as Dundee Utd and Aberdeen went toe to toe with the Old Firm plus the rise of an excellent Hearts team to boot. Sadly I was a Hibs fan so spent most of the 80s in a state of acute depression, but even we got our moment in the sun in the early 90s!
Brilliant to watch! Charlie nicholas was most skill full player in britain in the 1980s. His touches and passes were a joy to watch and he scored some of the best goals i had ever seen, and he was two footed as well wich alot of people didnt know i think. His goals at arsenal were just genius, especialy those free kicks he chipped and bended over the walls. I still remember thinking they were the best goals from a free kick i had seen. And the angle he was at as well. They say he didnt play well for arsenal? It didnt look like that to me, charlie could have played in any leauge, a remember he got injured and a think it was a bad one. There was about 4 top clubs wanting to sign him, man utd, liverpool, spurs, but he picked arsenal and the bright lights of london. When mcoist was being sent back up the road as sunderland didnt want him any more charlie could have signend for any club he wanted. So it just shows how much better charlie was. Plus mcoist never went to mexico 86 and charlie did lol charlie was naturaly gifted, that was plain to see.
Brian McGinley was definitely a fan of the mutants I was at all these ganes.Valentyne also hated Rangers. It shows in all these games Williw young and Andew waddell were too. Once their careers finished they all got top jobs within SFA
🎶 go home ya huns, go home 🎶🎶. Loved being in the Jungle with that going full tilt. Cracking video as I started going to the games with my mates in the early 80s (the auld man had been taking me since 1974) so some cracking memories.
Did u love piling money into a child sex abuse racket. Ehh state of you and your people. All to blame by ignoring child rape in the name of football. Shame on You all.
I was always happy when valentine was the ref. Especially when he gave big Roy that shy. That mob still go on about that. There was a lot more football after a shy face midfield ffs. U won it back. Then fkd the passback up lol
