I didn't think my sentro crank cap came off. Looked down the shaft of the gear and saw metal. Yup I had to find a very thin screw driver but it came off. So if you think your cap will not come off look inside the crank shaft with a flashlight and see if you see the end of a metal screw.

if you need custom sizes you can scan it on a printer/scanner and then draw it up or if you need a custom gear size you can use a gear generator site like www.stlgears.com Hope that helps

what machine do you have? all of them come apart because they were not glued as solid pieces during manufacturing. that cap on the top has a very well hiddden seam and it took prying at it with an exato to pop it off a little.

This repair can't be done on a Sentro. There's no cap to flip off the end of the crank. Everything's sealed in.

I thought mine was sealed as well. I needed a knife to get in that seam. The outer housing comes apart either way and it will pop out and you will be able to undo it then. They wouldn't seal it up in manufacturing, and the handle and gear would not be made together in the same plastic mold.
